Agree. However, I like that they are influential. There are folks who just don't watch the news or keep up with what is happening in the word, but they stay up to date on their celebrities. So celebrities, influencers organically sharing (not paid endorsements) who they are voting for and why helps a segment of the population to hopefully do their own research (and some won't) and go out and vote.

I don't happen to believe anyone should accept an endorsement from a celebrity as their only source of information. Then again a lot depends on the expertise, education, involvement, experience and credibility of the individual. On the other hand having a platform gives you the responsibility of being a conduit for "good". Many celebrities (discounting instant celebrities who have not done the work to earn the attention) have worked from poverty, and do understand the issues.

The celebrities were primarily just at the beginning, most of the event was centered on ordinary voters and their stories and questions, just with Oprah hosting throughout and the format being like the Oprah Winfrey Show. I would not normally vote for somebody who is a celebrity endorsement, but with this particular instance, it was my choice for the presidency and with the other support that’s behind her. I remember when Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin questioned Alyssa Farah Griffin on the show last season or the season before that why was she a gun owner? It seems that since Vice President Kamala Harris is a gun owner and a former prosecutor it's okay with her being a gun owner.
The issue at the table isn't guns. It's more about what KIND of guns. Military grade weapons are meant for war, not home defense, not hunting. Assault firearms are the discussion when it comes to US firearm ownership. I wish more people were aware that most aren't asking for a total gun ban. Most libs I know are into things like wildlife conservation, which often means guns. No one wants to disarm you. They just don't want you keeping assault weapons.
