Your title caught my attention but you could reduce the first 8 minutes to one minute. You take ages before you get to the point and repeat yourself such a lot. Apart from that, I found it interesting as this is information that is real and vital. Good luck with the videos and living in Iceland. It looks amazing.I hope you got your residence permit.
As a non-Schengen citizen who moved here 18 months ago, I agree with so much of this video! It is not an easy country to move to or live in, but I am making the most of it and working on my delayed gratification so I know I will be happy again in a few more years haha. Get my residence permit and improve my icelandic, so I can get the job I want
Thanks very much for your no nonsense video about Iceland. Apart from COVID times, I have been going to Iceland every year since 2013. We have made many friends over the years and yes, we wanted to live there. But, Brexit put a stop to all that. I was angry and bitter at first, but over time I've come to realise that Iceland would have been very difficult for me to learn the language. I'm extremely dyslexic, and on the autistic spectrum, and it would have been impossible to learn this extremely difficult language. We are going to Ireland instead, just one letter difference 😅 Thanks very much for this video, I'll be showing it to my partner later. Take care x
Sorry, but no videos ever answers the can you move to whatever country question for those who no longer need to work. I’m retired. I have a post-graduate degree as well as experience teaching English and working in IT. I would love to spend six months to a year in Iceland doing volunteer work just to learn Icelandic. I’m also interested in geology so being able to explore Iceland has been a dream for several decades. I’m not rich but have no issue with living frugally for a while. I’ve already experienced culture shock in my own country by moving from B.C. to Quebec and learning French, something I’m still working on as I’m still around B2. I hope to eventually reach C2. That’s why I have no interest in moving anywhere else permanently. I’ve also lived in Northern B.C. for a few years and so know how to handle longer nights. I just want an affordable adventure. Any suggestions on how I could make this possible in Iceland.
Hmmm... do you want my honest answer? I'm not sure and I am probably not the best person to ask! However, I have done a quick search on the department of immigration's website and they do offer long term visas for 180 days. The big issue is that you have to be able to support yourself for that time. This is the page: island.is/en/get-a-long-term-visa There is also a volunteer's residence permit but again, you have to prove you can support yourself for the duration of your stay. Here's that link: island.is/en/permits-for-volunteers Unfortunately, those of us from outside the Schengen area, there is no real easy way to spend any amount of time in Iceland without a spouse, job or a big bank balance! Hopefully this is even just a tiny bit helpful though - even if it just points you vaguely in the right direction!
I read that Iceland is in need of nurses and that only English is required to start (with promise of learning Icelandic in a certain timeframe). Is that not true?
@@freyapoopoo1265 I'm honestly not sure. The best thing you could do, if you want to do this, is to contact the hospital directly and ask. I've met non-Icelandic speaking nurses but none from outside the EU where it's significantly easier to move here as it is. Medical staff are needed though, from what I understand so this very well could be true!
Hello mam Your videos are very good and your editing skills are excellent, but your videos are not reaching many people. The main reason for this is that your videos are not SEO optimized. I am a RUclips video SEO expert and would like to optimize your videos. "And I would like to help move forward with monetizing your RUclips channel." ar you interested in this?
Do any of these truths about living in Iceland surprise you?

You are sensible and correct. I hope many people take your advice and realise how immigratation is difficult .

No, I am not interested in this and in all honesty, I think your comment is quite rude and unnecessary.
