The Game reminisced about his debut album, working with top artists like Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Eminem, and Kanye West. He discussed the unique experience of watching Eminem's songwriting process, characterizing it as a career highlight and describing the Grammy-winning artist as a "complex and different individual.” The release of his debut album, which reached number one on the Billboard 200, was a transformative moment in his career. However, its success led to tension with his G-Unit label, as he started feeling restricted by the obligations related to interviews and music production.
I like Game when he’s like this. Humble, honest and modest. Not arrogant, cocky & delusional.
It's fucking Hip Hop/Gangster rap. That's literally all it is about, is bragging. What a stupid comment.
You mean like 50 cent in half of his interviews?
This was the most humble/down to earth reflection I ever heard from game!
well so you know there's people that change when they have the money then humble once number's start to change ..money power will make you think someone is cocky...
& he will be bipolar on the next clip
He always flipflops, nothing new.
Honestly the most humble 4 mins I’ve heard from the Game. I’ve always had love for the Game from those early mixtape days and his arrogance and confidence is what got him to where he is but it’s also what held him back for being far greater.
Lol yall don’t really watch his interviews
He’s always been like that
Those edited shorts with fake clickbaiting captions that pip out as soon as he challenged 50 and eminem but on a serious note, he always gave them their props
The early 2000s produced without a doubt one of the greatest era's of music of all time.
I thought it sucked I only fucked with shady aftermath affiliated artist and nas who kinda falls in that camp anyway.
lmao the worst ... 90s was the best. 2000s the worst of all times.
@@L1am21ok 50
@@PR-WAY fuck 50 he was part of the trash after beg for mercy.
90s
It was an amazing time. In music and America in general. The early 2000s were fun.
YES! The world was definitely fun in 2005.. life was fun! Things and people were definitely different from today
The music in America was great in 2000s even when 9.11 happened but 01 was still great year even after that tragic…
Super facts
Game is really a study in the impact of social media. It’s sad how a lot of the shxt that has gone down diminished how people view him. He stayed dope all this time, never lost a step. That 1992 album is crazy… 8 albums in and he dropped a concept album. Still hungry. He always put soulful music on his albums too. Definitely underrated
Game saying he got cocky is something I can respect! Own up to your dirt!!!
Dirt?
Nothing wrong with being cocky….pause
Just have to know how to control it
Humble response. Didn’t expect it.
That era was something else man
1999-2005 Aftermath was on top of the world Eminem, Dre, 50, The Game
Then Kendrick came later
Till Kanye killed gangster rap! 😂😅
Detox was conceived out of that era and peak, but obviously, as we all know, it didn't pan out in the end. Still, Dre's Compton record is a massive banger and even Game has a super dope verse on it.
That era won’t be beaten in this lifetime
Busta slipped in there also.
The Documentary and Doctor's Advocate were incredible back to back albums, it's a shame LAX didn't live up to the hype it should've had. I felt the tracklist had too many fillers.
Lax was a dope album too, wasn't classic like the 1st 2, but definitely had some heat on it
Lax was dope af
LAX still hit #2 on the billboard and #1 for rap albums but yeah not as good as the first two but tbh there’s probably no way to follow up two albums like those
He should of made "money" his 2nd single on the album, it would of blew. Chuck owe me a million dollars though because he bet me Lebron wouldn't win a ring on that track with Raekwon 😂
LAX was a downgrade compared to the first two records but it's alright. I always felt that The RED Album was underrated, even if it's cluttered with a bit too much filler, but it has overlooked bangers like The City with Kendrick and Ricky.
2000-2007 era of rap music holds a special place in my teenage and your adult years and game and g-unit were a big part of it.
hell yeah the 10s was shortlived but nothing in comparison to the thousands. Just a lot of big name artists Chamillionaire, Slim Thug, The Game, Em, 50, the list goes on. I think E-40 was still producing albums if not he was at very least featured in other people's songs. Just a lot of good ass music everywhere you turned. T.I list goes on.
Need a interview with Jim Jones about how Game’s supposed rift was already premeditated
Jim is a phony himself. Game brought his ass out to Cali to get put on.
I dont believe that I reakon his timeline is off
@@PR-WAYGame has feminine bipolar issues & Jim Jones is a str8 to honest tattle tell, I think you're timeline is off bud!! 😅
why do grown men care about a grown man having an issue with another grown man? lol ya'll are weird.
I think Mike Lynn said that from the get go even before joining G-Unit, Game wanted to be his own man. He called Spider Loc and I guess he said the same thing to Jim Jones about not liking that he was signing to G-Unit. But somewhere down the line, Game showed appreciation but once the album dropped he got way too cocky. 50 was able to put up with everything until Game said he doesn't have a problem with Jadakiss, Nas & Fat Joe.
I love chuck for this!!! This is honest, no ego! Sending you and the fam positive energy, along with fifth!
He will be back to dissing 50, Em and Dre next week. Can't trust this clown
@@tmz_worldwideI hope he does
You can't say he doesn't owe his album success or early fame to 50cent. The track list the production the songs the features if it was for those which was all or mainly 50 connects his success would have never came out the gate like that. Ain't no way you could tell differently 50 was the biggest and had the biggest influence that time!
Those songs weren’t just 50 connects, some of them were literally songs 50 intended to use for his second album, The Massacre. That’s why it was so wild to watch him turn on 50 and act like he didn’t play a part in his success. Interesting to see him admit he was cocky.
50 claimed he wrote the whole songs. He wrote the fucking hooks. That is all. Game's verses on every song they did together are better than 50's verses. Game makes those songs. The best song on the Documentary is "Don't Need Your Love" which is a better Rap song than 50 has ever made. Also when the beef started 50 lost his pen all of a sudden when Game was murdering 50 and the Unit on wax. Oh, now all of a sudden you lost your pen and can't write shit huh? Very strange. Talking all that shit about writing Game's raps but when shit hit the fan 50 couldn't come up with shit and Game gave them 300 bars and Runnin, 100 Bars The Funeral,120 Bars and many more.
You don’t have to be shot to be tough you can just simply help some of these elders the good ones that deserve to be heard especially the veterans LOVE GAME ❤
50 came out with his album and thought about putting his team on. Thats why they was all in his videos
You say it like they wasnt on his label like he ain't eating off them like he doing them a favour.
@@L1am21he did them the biggest favor of ther entire life
Y'all act like Game was signed to 50 lol weirdos can't stand you 50 & EM fans
@PR-WAY If he wasnt aigned to 50 then 50 did him a solid giving him them records on his first album.....
@@L1am21 Ima give you your hottest records for your first album that was originally mines and not get a cut from it..... bad business
I still listen to the Documentary even to this day
I do too when I put my Music Player on shuffle
I DONT LOOK AT GAME AS A LEGEND I SIMPLY SEE HIM ASS A GEM 💎 BEYOND A LEGEND.
Bro actin like he ain’t release a whole ass 6 minutes Eminem diss 1 year ago 😂
Lmao true
Maybe you should stop talk talking an jus wait till vlad ask him about it witch he will
The Game would be so much more loved, and appreciated if we saw this version of him more often. Part of the reason he gets so much hatred these days is because of his antics and all of the ego and blatant lies he displays. But seeing this segment of the interview, this seems like the honest and true version of him. I just wish we got to see this version of him more often. Because love him or hate him. The guy is a true legend.
That Documentary was freaking legendary
Facts although I think 1992 was better
Serious? What on there was as good as how we do, like father like son, westside story etc
@@toms5161 that entire album was good…very well produced…Documentary had like 4 bangers but 1992 was good all the way through, and the samples were all consistent with 80’s and 90’s music around the 92 era. It was almost perfectly produced
I love Dreams! Talking about Easy and Huey Newton
The first three albums by Game is classic Game. After that he starts changing his style, his flows and look to stay with the times
The Documentary is a classic. Cant deny that.
The Game is a legend.
I didn't expect an introspective answer here. I have a new found respect for him. Good on him. Salute🖖
I never seen someone sabatage their own career like Game.
FACTS!!
Very true, i can only imagine how much bigger him and G-unit would have been.
Not true. Look how many rappers have thrown their bag away and are serving life sentences
Dmx unfortunately
@@alexenache6942Man rip to the dog.😢 I watched his career over the years and saw his downward spiral to his death. it's a shame seeing people you're attached to fall.
Folks still don't know or forget that Doctor's Advocate is also a fantastic and slept on record that he pulled off without 50's songwriting help or Dre's production.
That's true and I remember 50 cent talking shit about the game saying that the doctors advocate was only going to sell 500 thousand copies but luckily it still went platinum and the game let everybody know that If dre beats define him then don't buy his album and I respect his opinion and he was still able to prove 50 wrong and still sell music.
@@jarellbrown6974his timing was just off after that album. Game stock started to fall.
@@Mikey90210 I hear exactly what you saying and after that album the game just didn't have the same push like he once did earlier in his career with G-unit and also JT the bigga figga
He really did have the best production on any album since Chronic 2001 but people don't realize.... Game has better unreleased and leaked material than released. Could you imagine if songs like The Kill, Dead People, Hustlin, the Reunion, Rough, Monsters in My Head etc made the Red Album? The guy is CRIMINALLY underrated. Best west coast artist since Pac if you're objective and don't judge by antics.
You forgot still me
I remember my friends and I had just finished high school and listened to The Documentary today and we went craaazy from Track 1 (Westside Story) and didnt skip a single track till the end 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Game could’ve been at that SB halftime show had he accepted and appreciated that what Dre did for Em, Em did for 50, and 50 did for Game.
Game could've been overseas touring with 50 right now, doing sold out shows and getting paper, instead hes right here doing interviews with Vladimir.
He knows he fumbled that bag, but hey do what u gotta do with your pride.

Game would’ve had a lousy career like Buck, Banks, Olivia, Hot Rod, Spider Loc, Kidd Kidd, Yayo, etc. Had he stayed.

😂😂😂😂
I know people get caught up in the antics and name dropping that game does from time to time, but you can’t deny his resume in rap/hip-hop.
The Documentary is a Hip Hop classic. It is the best album of the Game's career no doubt he bit the hand that fed him by dissing Dre. Without this album the Game's career would have gone nowhere.
💯💯💯💯
Game finally admits, he was the reason for the fallout
Exactly
He didn't wanna be 50s lapdog like Yayo and Banks. Game had already inherited 50s petty beefs with Joe Budden, Ja Rule, Fat Joe, Jadakiss, and Nas.
@@romeored901Yep I’ve been saying this 4eva he ain’t wanna be 50 dulah (son , NY shit ) that’s all it was about & plus they ain’t know each other & im a NYC Bklyn dude saying that .. I call it like it is i don’t ride 🍆
@@largegod77 I feel that. I'm from Atlanta and I've always liked NY hip hop, so I didn't like what 50 was doing. I always saw him as a hater.
If 50 was a better MC, then I would've respected it. In reality, he needed Game, Eminem, Busta Rhymes to jump in his beefs because he could barely handle Ja Rule on his own.
@@romeored901but remember Ja Rule wasn’t alone either. He had Irv Gotti and a bunch of street cats on his side taking on 50 and Yayo. It was an uneven playing field regardless.

Game’s so honest in this interview
Doctors advocate and the documentary are one of the best rap albums of all time
Em is a crazy dude man LOL!
I remember having a debate somewhere about Games albums and alot of ppl were saying Doctors Advocate was his best work completely forgetting that The Documentary went 1 on the 200
Entire album could be played from first to last, a few sleepers and if he wanted to he had songs that could’ve been hit singles besides the ones they dropped. Very dope album I remember working my first job to buy it
Doctors Advocate was a better album to alot of fans including myself
@@rigobryant8050agreed
Doctor's Advocate is an extremely solid record but Documentary gets all of the shine and praise for its singles and coming out of nowhere when the West needed a new artist like Game. I think DA is even more impressive as a work since Game did it without 50 or Dre.
@@citypopradioFM yup and the production was still 🔥
Doctors advocate consistently has better diverse tracks most likely due to the fact there's alot of guest appearances on that album
I bought that cd back in summer of 05 that is a classic … dream slaps Kanye west is a goat at producing .
Eminem was number one for months with 5 different albums, went diamond but was always humble. Game had just one album go number one for a week, and till this day him and 50 are not cordial anymore. Black mentality
This small clip is probably the best game interview I’ve ever seen from him

The Game has 3 albums that debuted at #1 on Billboard 200 (One more than 50 has) The Documentary, Doctors Advocate and The R.E.D. Album.. L.A.X. debuted at #1 initially so should have been 4 #1's but the band Slipknot cried for a recount against L.A.X, in which Game only lost by 9 copies...Still that shows you that Game was popular enough to go toe to toe with a heavy metal band in their Prime💯
Game also has 8 #1 albums on the rap/r&b chart.. Not many rappers can say that. And 9 total that debut in the top 10. These are goat stats.
He Might Have 4 Numbers 1 But The Sales Were Extremely Low Compared To 50’s … 50’s Number 2 (Curtis) Album Doubled Games 2nd Album Numbers 😂I’m Not Gonna Talk About The Massacre 😅😂 …
90% of 50's respect money and fame came from the first album.@@Luvuyo4GYM He still continued to show consistencyin rap and actually started outselling 50 and charting higher than 50 after 2007.. It just never seemed so cause 50 stayed rich off movies, drinks and other business ventures outside of rap. Game has a better catalog of albums. All CD sales went down after 2006.

So 50 was right; Game started changing after his album went number one and felt like he didn’t need 50 cent anymore
