I grew up in Meriden during the 80s all the way till 2009. I lived in many areas of Meriden, mostly the bad areas. I was just there yesterday. I miss the Meriden Hub downtown, the shopping area. I used to live in a projects building known as "The Century Building" before it was torn down in the early 90s. It was worst than The Mills. Couldn't even walk down the hall without encountering someone on drugs and even one time someone dead in the hall from over dosing. There was always cops busting doors down in that building during that time for obvious reasons. I remember even some dude trying to set one of my neighbors apartment on fire. That is how bad that building was back in the 80s. Meriden has never really been a safe place but at the same time, they have the nicest park in CT, Hubbard Park.
I love what you said because I grew up visiting my family and I always loved it but at the same time you know there's much more going on up in here😉❤️🙏
7:22 I used to live in that apartment house years ago, its technically a West Main St address, not Maple Branch. I lived in that house in the 90s. During my time living there, my apartment was broken into and trashed, stole all my PS1 console and games. I remember also a kid setting our lawn mower on fire and running away, trying to blow the house up. This happened back in the late 90s. That house looks like worst shit now than before.
It's been 22 years I don't live in Meriden, Connecticut. I was born and raised there in the 70s, 80s 90s. Lived at 77 Miller Street, 112 South Colony, 88 Grove Street. I still remember way back the bowling GROVE STREET close to LIBERTY LAGANA. Lots of good memories even though there were bad neighborhoods around the area. I always went to Santa Rosa De Lima CATHOLIC CHURCH. Studied at JOHN BARRY SCHOOL, Washington Middle School, Lincoln Middle School. Went to MIDDLESEX COMMUNITY COLLEGE MERIDEN AMD MIDDLETOWN till year 2000. I miss my hometown.

Burger King Castle R.I.P. 👑 I remember running around the arcade cashing in prize tickets and tripping on mushrooms watching the animatronic monkey band! 🎸 🙉 🥁 😳🥺🤯😱🤣
You can see the hole that used to be amazing Art deco bowling alley across from a deco movie theater. It once was the best small city in CT. They let it be destroyed. Just heart breaking!
@@mirriamvalentin8634 Connecticut is a distant memory. I spent 30 years in Meriden. It’s not a nice place. Especially once you’ve left. I visit every 7 Years or so. It’s worse each time.

I wish I would of seen his east orange video before I moved there. It's crazy in Jersey. I moved out within 5 months.
I think it's pretty cool. I moved to Florida 13 years ago. Id much rather watch this video than go back there.
