If you forgot your encrypted password and provide an additional layer of security, WhatsApp protects end-to-end encrypted backups with a password or 64-digit encryption key. This password or key is the only way for you to access your encrypted backup or transfer it to a new device.
But for some reason, if you forget your encrypted password on your WhatsApp account! Watch this video to recover your password and restore your data!

Helpless, whatsapp cant reset or recover password encrypted backup.
@@lildreezy1448 It doesn't work if you erased the app first, because there is no way you can reach the chat option of the settings if you are out of the app. I need another way to recover the encrypted password from outside the app, I just don't understand how can they leave people with that few options to recover the encrypted password if we already have so many easier ways with technology in our hands!!

Doesn't work. There is no option to Contact Whatsapp as indicated in the clip...

Actually the option of contact us isn't coming so how do I backup my chats now?
Not sure why, but encryption was on and for some reason I've never saved the encryption keys even though I said I did set it up with it. I was transferinf to another iphone when I encounter this issue.
What worked for me was I setup whatsapp again on my previous iphone (keep in mind I still didn't reset it) and was able to access to my chats again. I turned off encryption, back up again and voila, set whatsapp on my new iphone with backup.

How I fixed mine.(This only works if you don't have an encryption key)
What I knew:
1. My 6 digit PIN I used to setup my 2 step verification.
What I didn't know: my password (I had no verification key)
My situation: I backed up WhatsApp a few hours ago and deleted it, I tried installing it and I ran into this problem of me not knowing my password
Solution:
1. Type in your number, verification pin. Reach the stage where it says restore and skip
2. Skip it
3. Go to settings> chat> chat backup> select your Google account you previously used to backup you account where it asks what account you want to use to back it up.
4. End to end encryption will be off, click on it. It will tell you to create a new password (don't do it because I haven't tested this up to that level yet, idk if that is also a fix). Create your encryption key
5. Copy it, paste in notes
6. Once that is setup uninstall WhatsApp
7. Install back and reach the stage of restore and skip
8. Click restore and use your encryption key.
Let it restore your chats👍🏾

no it won't go forever.
The backup data will be there in your google drive till the date it backed up.

It won't work. If you don't have the old device, or you forgot or lost the encryption key or password, no one else cna decrypt it. On the old device you can transfer chats using whatsapp setup process, or possibly, but unlikely, support can give you the key stored on old device (provided you didn't uninstall)
@tutacat I reset my mobile phone to factory settings (with data of WhatsApp properly backed up on a separate hard disk). After resetting phone and installing WhatsApp application, the old backup (msgstore.db.crypt 1 GB) is unable to restore. Although, it is showing up my WhatsApp group but no old chats / text. Can you help please

Dont do that!!! I tried it and it just created a new empty backup. Thus even if I remembered the password the old backup will be from now on gone!

Step 2 - enter ur phone no. And code .
Step 3 - when whatsapp asks for backup data or skip ,then click on skip
Step 4 - Now ur whatsapp will open but there is no data . So be Quick go to the whatsapp settings and if end to end encryption is turned off then kindly turned it on and set the password.
Step 5 - after you set the password , then go to the mobile settings and clear all data of whatsapp.
Step 6 - now again log in with ur mobile no. And enter the code then click on backup then enter the end to end encryption password ( recently set )

I can log in again, I also forgot the password, but I can again. The way to enter wa then skip recovery. After entering wa, open chat settings, chat backup, end-to-end encrypted backup, then open your 64-digit code, then just after it appears on the screen shoot. After that, re-enter WA from the start, restore using the 64-digit code. Thank God, I can log in again and all the chats are back. I hope this helps

What an useless video, offcourse this does not work. Whatsapp does not want and mosly can't help you. Your chats are gone.
