Yeah they were backups but mostly because lots had been replaced or excluded in favour of the singing flowers. Most of the older stages, at the time, were being converted into rocker or C stages, which featured the singing flowers instead of the warblettes. Even some new stages were built, to replace outsourced shows such as hot fudge or family album.
