My father was a great cricket lover and a great fan of Kapil dev. Whenever we watched a cricket match , he always used to share his memories about the 83 world cup he used to listen with radio and I always said "papa aap ye phle bhi bata chukke h" and this kept continuing. Papa passed away last year ..I can't even imagine how happy he would be if he was alive..he could be able to relive his memories. Everytime I watched this trailer..I always felt "Kaash papa aaj hote..!"

My sympathies are with you bro. For the first time in a very long time, I feel proud of my age. I'm old enough to have some memories of this event - of my dad jumping up and down with joy while listening to the radio. Of the huge newspaper headlines the next day. Of the combination of pride and disbelief that was in the air...
I want to add more context here. India vs Zimbabwe match was important match for India as they had to win with good NRR. However india were reduced to 17/5. When Kapil Dev came to bat- he had small partnership to take team total to 140/8. And then Kapil started hitting and went to score 175* (highest score then). India went on to win that match by 31 runs (India scored 266).
Sadly this match was never telecasted due to BBC strike.

The original myth was that the BBC, the host broadcaster for the 1983 World Cup was on strike. However, that report has no merit and has never been factually justified. There was one fact at that time. The resource crunch of the BBC is what prevented Kapil Dev’s masterpiece from coming to TV screens and from there, video networks all over the world.
On June 18, four matches were played. But, the BBC had only two TV crews to broadcast the match. It was stated that England vs Pakistan and West Indies vs Australia would be telecast. It was hard to ignore the evidence at that time. West Indies were the top team, Australia was the second-best, England were the host nation and since Pakistan was playing the hosts, they had to be part of the limelight.
India had not set the world on fire. So, the India vs Zimbabwe and New Zealand vs Sri Lanka clash were not telecast by BBC. It would prove to be such a disappointment for India cricket. If that is not disappoint, one does not understand what is.

83 is long back true, but we all have heard about 83 stories, it's like a folklore here in India, kapil dev's 175 when we were 9/4 is described as 'cricket as a game changing odi knock one's ever seen' by sunil gavaskar and it's not been recorded

Yes, I think you were spot on. This is probably the best movie where the cricket actually looks like real cricket and is worth watching like you said. Clearly shows how much effort they put into the characterization, but also the most important part which is the cricket lol.

Not only west Indies in the final , india beat England in the semis , Aussie in the quarters and windies in the group stages , including the miracle in the Zimbabwe game too -- all superior sides. The entire world cup was like some imagination .
They were underdogs but the team had some very good players ,make no mistake of that . Trailer achhi h , hopefully this film highlights the world cup from all the angles -- closer to a documentary from the indian team pov .
