Hello, I'd like to suggest a subject for your analysis, *Kim Wexler* of Better Call Saul. The character is blindly hailed by many but is actually a perfect case of idiot ball.
I legit loved this film and I still like it a lot. But I was a massive horror fan as a kid, and generally liked upsetting stories. My two favs as a kid were Return to Oz and Watership Down.
@@_G4.R4_ Return to Oz is basically kiddies first film analysis imo. Figuring out that all the characters in Oz represent things in the mental hospital and are portrayed by characters in the real world. There's not many kids films that ask the viewer to decide what's real or not and leave it up to the viewers analysis.
I loved this movie as a kid, but after letting it sit awhile and upon rewatch as an adult, it definitely did not hold up. Honestly, whoever directed the end with Dr Screweys' death did the best job. That's the only worthwhile scene of the entire movie.
Damn ,this is good ! The way you dissect and explain all of the behind the scenes details of production and writing and casting and wind it all together with how peoples personalities mess things up is absolutely fantastic. Sprinkle in lines like your take on Julia Childs. "Like a wax figure left in a box too long "....too funny. Add in some relivant personal home movie footage, and this video is dead brilliant! Oh ya....and the way you edit ....also brilliant. More please .
It's a shame so many people feel this way about the movie, but I understand why. It's been one of my long-time favorites and a massive inspiration to me as an animator, especially with the strange horror elements. It was apparently the movie I kept rewatching on VHS the most as a kid. It's one of the movies I bring up to tell people that modern animation is missing it's darker edge from these days. But thanks for illuminating all the BTS of it, it all makes sense why the movie feels so disconnected and dreamlike (at least that's the nice way I like to put it haha). Good job.
We're Back, Ariana's back; never have I been more excited for a youtube notification! You killed it on this one! Lots of fun, and you did a great job at leading us through this weird story of nobody giving a fuck. So glad you gave a fuck though :)
This is a nostalgic film for me but igs not a favorite film of mine. I distinctly remember watching it when I was very young & by high school was when I remembered it existed & how strange of a film it was. Still as a dino obsessed kid there is neatness there & the dark elements were dope. Now why it didnt become a big hit makes all the more sense to me.
I really feel for the animation studio amblimation they only made 3 films and all three of them were box office bombs I feel like if balto was a success they could’ve found their groove this could’ve been one of the best animation studios of the UK but on the bright side at least this ultimately led to the creation of Dreamworks
Well said. It's interesting, this talk of all three films from the animation studio Amblimation bombing has gotten me to thinking about how It MIGHT be interesting to see if the Amblimation films got remade in live-action like what Disney's been doing right now with a lot of their animated films.
"worst" first of all how dare you as a kid that grew up in the rural south having moved to NYC, I routinely stress out my New Yorker friends with my fear of EVIL DOCTOR SCREWEYES also the shadow under your nose makes it look like talking about this movie is causing you to slowly brain hemorrhage
I had no idea the movie was this tortured during development 😰 I genuinely loved it as a kid. The dark parts didn't scare so much as they confused me. (Like what happened with the ring master? He was eaten? Really? Because I saw no evidence of it then and now. Damn censorship.) Never understood why he was sthe bad guy either because even back then, I knew it was wrong to give them "intelligence" the way the first miracle man did. If anything, the villain just needed a lecture on framing; how both these men framed their versions of the same animals was wrong. But eh, this movie is damaged from the neglect of the creators and so is that poor author. He had such a rare opportunity happen to his book and they ruined it on him. 😿 Such selfish people. Is he dead, btw? If not I wanna offer my condolences. If so, where's he buried? I need to send flowers. 😭
Ariana, nice video review and analysis! I actually liked "We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story". But I can see it wasn't that great. I actually got to email the 4th and final director of the movie (Phil Nibbelink). There were things (I got from rumors about the movie) I wanted answered. Watching the only known deleted scene that was too intense sort of shows this: There were many ideas for "We're Back", that the movie would've gotten an original PG-13 rating. Turns out despite the final film being rated "G", the trailer copy on IMDb still has it marked for teens. I learned from Mr. Nibbelink that movies (as Roger Ebert described it as) like this: An extended version of a saturday morning cartoon with a Teenage rating doesn't sell good. I have had brief connections with creators for another film that is forgotten a lot and is not too loved that was in a production hell also. If you're interested maybe you could make a review on that with what information I can provide.

I’m so glad that I’m not the only person who thought this movie stunk. Even as a kid who had limited viewing materiel due to having no cable, I wasn’t desperate enough to watch this more than once.
I mean its nothing special like I'm sure if ur like 28 years old like this person and watch it for the first time you'll probably hate it but I watched as a kid so it has a place in my heart but saying it's the worst is ridiculous when there's shit like Carnosaur, Theodore Rex, Raptor etc out there lmao
Great video - truly an incredible story with those odd. Can I suggest Ravenous as a movie to research? The BTS of the film is nuts - the cast mutinied from what I can tell - and the end product is awesome but very odd dark humor.

@@ArianaAlexis Hey Alexis, Name's Chris, I wasn't a fan of this movie when it was released in 1993 which was the same year when "Jurassic Park" came out. My lease scene is when Stubbs (voiced by Marty "Martin" Short) was quitting the circus as he goes on a angry rant at Professor Screweyes that he wasn't pleased that he was being called the worst clown. Screweyes did not like him and that's why Stubbs had enough and that's why he was quitting the circus. I also hated it when Buster sticked his tongue at his brothers in the end of the movie when they are saying, "Momma's little birdy" over and over again. His mother (voiced by Rhea Perlman) could've told him to stop that because it wasn't very nice. He angrily orders her to shut up as he explains his reason on to why did he did that at them because they were annoying him and were not nice to him in the beginning of the movie. He also said that she is not going to tell his father about this. Also, Why did you play that clip of Anna Gunn from "Breaking Bad" at the 19:40 minute mark for? That was kinda stupid when she was screaming at Betsy Brandt. Marie could've said "No" in that episode. It was kinda stupid for you to play that.
