Nice job! If I live long enough... someday I'll have a Ford to do over. I always liked Ford but I like too many other brands of old work horses. I have a sea of yellow, and red units but I think a Blue one in the middle of the bunch would really look fantastic!!! Love them little tractors. You put out a very nice video, much enjoyed!
Hoping to someday get me a 1960s ford garden tractor. I’d trade my bolens husky 1054 for one I’d love eventually have a 100 120 and 140. Excellent restoration
Andy I restored it over a two year time frame. I was just sitting here trying to figure out how much I have into it.. I would have to say I have about a thousand into it.
It came out great. You could of solved the pitting metal problem by spriding a thin coat glazing putty over them, and then sanding it to where it’s smooth, then prime and paint.
On the hydrostatic drive tractors there is a long forward and reverse lever. And just to the left rear is a round knob. If you turn the knob one way it engages the drive, and if you turn it the other way it releases the drive. When the drive is released , you can sort of push the tractor.
Before you paint and abandon the decal idea....ask around or have your wife ask around....there is a prolific product called a "cricut" that my wife owns. It cuts vinyl. Will make any sticker you want. A little home cnc machine kind've. Just a thought anyway. Tractor is looking great. I'm rooting for yoa'
nice job man you saved a nice one, im planning on restoring my grandfathers ford, and i love the moon dishes where did you get them from?? i really like the tractor!
Would you know what size belt goes on a 1967 ford 100 lawn tractor? And also how the belt routes around the deck and around the motor? I can send pics of the mower if it will help!
i know you used a donor tractor but about how much did you invest in this project, i have my grand fathers ford and just trying to figure out the cost ill have in mine.... thanks
Quick Question for you sir! I recently aquired a 140. I have the battery cover but whatever it mounted to must have rotted off. Do you have any insight for a battery holder that I can utilize the factory cover with??? Thanks in advance! beautiful tractor
Really great job my friend. I always loved Ford and Oliver tractors. Of course I have a John Deere 110 and 112 that I am restoring now. I love it so much I am starting a small engine repair/Lawn equipment maint/mobile welding business here in PA. I am also going to be doing full rebuilds on the bigger Kholer engines and even chainsaws. How many hours do you think you have in it?
I did a lot of preparation work, and I collected parts over a two year period. I traveled a bit to find the parts, so the time invested is difficult to determine. I did the final push in January and February of 2020. I probably spent less than 100 hours on it during those months.
Erik, great video! I’ve got the same tractor I’m going to be restoring. Got it not running or driving and I’ve been slowly working on going through it. I was wondering if you could answer a few questions. First off, what Jacobsen tractor did you use as a donor? Where did you say the seat was from? Thanks!
Ctstopher10 I use a Jacobsen 800 for the donor. Some of the parts came from garden tractor junk yards.so I took whatever was available. The nice thing is that the 100, 120, 140 all have the same frame and other parts that connect to it.
How long did this take? Tihis is incredible. I have an Allis Chalmers that I love and want to restore and then a John Deere 112. I did a John Deere 110 and traded it for a vintage Porsche . Yeah I did that great of a job. Really awesome my friend!!
@@ford120tractor It seems that was the "Golden Era" of garden tractors. I suppose the 1950's on up to the 80's were a continuation but not beyond. It is great that you restored such an awesome example of Garden tractor history and are keeping it in service.
Unfortunately I do not know the size of the belt. There are three different decks available on that tractor. Try some of the Facebook groups. Or maybe Josh Devon.
Beautiful restoration work. Top notch painting.

That what I started mowing with in 1970. I was twelve.

Look up Josh Devon on the tractor forums. I have used two of his battery box kits.
Hi, did you replace the starter? If so, where did you source it?
Thanks- I have a 69 140 as well
These tractors were produced for ford by Jacobsen
Needs a front end loader now

What was the length of the gas gauge cap I need one for my Ford 120 it’s 5 1/4 long. Nice job on the mower.

Spray window cleaner on it like windex and it's going to slide easily
Do you have the dimensions of the sleev hitch and the lift arm for the sleeve hitch
Do you know what size deck belt for ford 100 1967

Where can you find a lift hitch I need one for my tractor
Erik, how do you get these tractors to roll? I have a chassis and cannot get it to roll at all.
Are these garden tractor hard to find?
Not really.

These tractors are still around. Join the groups, and keep your eyes open.
Ford . Looks similar to a Jacobson
It might be interesting, but I can't tell. The audio is so terrible I turned it off.
Hey my name is Chris and I'm just wondering where did you find your original Gravely tires? Cause that's what's used on the 800-8000 series Gravelys.
