Thank you very much Dave & John for expressing the “ contribution “ your wives have made throughout your marriages. When people used to ask me “ where do you work?” I would say,” I’m just a housewife.” Even though I was co-owner/secretary for our family owned & operated carpet cleaning business for 35 years, while also raising our 2 children and giving free day care to my 2 grandsons for 4 yrs each until they went to pre-K. Then in 2019 , while my daughter was filling in as caregiver for my 84 yr old dad who has Alzheimer’s, while I was in Texas due to my husband having heart surgery, she retired me. Now I am caregiver for my husband and continue caring for my dad’s finances and his rental properties.🤦♀️ I wear many hats and I know I have “ contributed “ through our 44 yr marriage!!! 4:58
I love how Dave gave his wife FULL CREDIT AS HIS PARTNER WHO CONTRIBUTED IN MATERIAL WAYS - childcare and “holding down the fort”! A true man who took responsibility for errors he made early on , but worked their way out of the disaster with a sensible method instead of playing the “PITY PARTY” deal! WHAT A GUY!!!
Me too!!! My husband and I just passed OUR 39 yr old family run carpet cleaning business to our son-n-law & our daughter. I had helped my husband grow the business by being his secretary, taking business calls and scheduling jobs. At the same time I was a “ stay-at-home mom of 2 children and was free daycare for my 2 grandsons until they each went to pre-K. Even after my husband became disabled at age 62 I continued on as secretary for my son-n-law who lovingly came to our rescue and took over cleaning carpets. My daughter finally retired me when my 81 yr old daddy came to live on our property. I had the privilege of caring for daddy for 7 years before his Alzheimer’s journey ended in March. So you can imagine how frustrated I was last night when he said,” you know this business was MY baby.”🤨 So yes I really do respect Dave for his respect for his partner!!! 2:47
OK!! to Andrew, who was on the show today thank you for inspiring me! I’m a crisis counselor, which means I’m not rolling in the dough :-) I was so impressed to see how much money you paid off. It’s giving me hope! Thank you so much for being on the show and encouraging me :-)
Ben, I've been in a similar situation. My best advice would be to request mediation. There you can make your case to someone more rational. Judges almost always side with the mother. You'll go broke before and then be forced to settle. Really lean in to how you obtained primary custody and how her issues would be detrimental to the child. Also, get your son in to a church program like Sunday school and some sports if he isn't already. Try to anchor him in Utah. In the end you'll probably have to give up some parenting time. I wish you the best of luck.
Way to go Andrew!! I love seeing singles on the debt free stage. It gives me hope. For some reason seeing couples pay off large numbers aren't as inspiring to me. You should be extremely proud🎉
Not that the couples don’t inspire me. They do. But doing it on your own takes a special kinda moxie that you have no choice but to find inside yourself. That’s powerful.

Thank you Dave, and John, for giving us hard working SAHM/Homemakers credit ❤ we’re just trying to do it the ol’ fashioned Godly way and are truly grateful because not every gal can 😞 (many also don’t want to sadly)… I’ve always been “born in the wrong era” anyway haha. Super ol’ fashioned. Try to live simple. But yah, we definitely keep the fort held down ha. Constant cleaning, everyone’s laundry-wash, dry, fold, put away, dishes (don’t have a dishwasher), preparing fresh fruits and veggies and our huge daily smoothie, making meals (never eat out except very rare occasion), baking, ordering groceries online then pick up, then put away, making list of stuff out of/need, paying bills, business calls that are needed, spending time with kiddo who’s not in school yet, dealing with school stuff from kiddo who’s in school-class parties/events going on, going over school work and helping and cheering him on, and on and on and on 👍 hardly sit down. But truly grateful, wouldn’t want it any other way ❤ then hubs comes home to things done, peaceful overall and only has the drama of kiddos fighting at times haha 😜 which is just normal life with kids. To the mom who wants another baby. It takes 9 mths to cook a baby. Use that time to save up your emergency fund. When your baby comes home become a stay at home mom and when you're ready, and if you still want to at that point start studying part time.
Mr. $4800 For Health Insurance... your baby mama needs to leave and get you for more than that in child support because you don't know if you love her that much.
Do it, Leon - get married; it's the best way to ensure your wife thrives financially. When she grows tired of being "tied down" and feels "trapped", she's guaranteed to get 50% of your retirement and a large chunk of your savings after leaving you. Remember, my friend, women don't marry for money - they divorce for it.
The caller undecided about having a baby or working already knew the answer to her question. In my opinion, some people call the show and waste time. To grapple back and forth about the price to have a child to wanting to contribute financially to the family makes no sense to me. Either have the baby or delay.
For Andrew who did the debt free scream..I wonder how much he actually paid on his debt on his own and how much of the sale of his house helped towards that..
Leon was one of the worst calls I’ve heard on here. Evaluating his fiancée’s worth based on health insurance, not that fact she’s the MOTHER of their child. She was “brave” during Covid, yet not a child birth?! He doesn’t value women! I wish JD asked Leon about his relationship with his mother. I feel so bad for his fiancé- just send her child support so someone can love her properly!

Something was up with that scenario. I’m sure there’s a lot more to the story
This is a common scenario, unfortunately, and the woman thinks it's so great but the guy just wants to sexually assault the daughter. Or the son.
