It's a great song and excellent video. Has been handed down from generation to generation. It deserves to be applauded and showcased. Pass it along and enjoy!!!!
This is a true story. My dad, a cantor, took voice lessons from Shalom Secunda, and he often took me along. Secunda told me the story of the song, but by that time the money he got for it had dropped to $25!
Another story l heard was that the Andrew sisters were recording it in a studio in New York in Yiddish. The owner overheard the recording and told them there was a lot of discrimination against Jews and they'd have to change it. That's where the latest change took place so that others were included. I once had a soft disc that wiped the hard plastic vynal records with their faces. Maxine, Vern and ... ?. Wish l still had it.
What a joy --what real music

Don't forget the Barry Sisters version... popular / Yiddish / English... and I think they even did it on Ed Sullivan's show in the 1950's
BTW, a great catchy tune.
My Parent got married to Ba Mir Bistu Sheyn in 1938
