Coucam Crab Pot | Coastwatch Product of the Week

The Coastwatch product of the week, we've got an Aussie made crab pot made up there in Rockhampton - Coucum’s Crab Pots.
They’re beautifully made, typical Aussie quality about them. What I particularly like about them is their compact size, you'd imagine getting these in a small tinny. The last thing you need is massive big round pots.
There's a few key features on these that make them stand out. They've got a built in bait pocket at the back there, which is a massive advantage. They've got the rope guard, the scuff guard all the way around the edges. So if you're in sort of rocky areas, you're not going to wear that rope out. Heavy duty gal, and they're actually quite heavy. So they're going to come in line with the heavier pots that they're talking about instilling in Queensland waters.
Just recently, they've put this little exit door on it for your smaller crabs and fish to escape. I think that's a massive advantage. Stop them from getting stuck in there and being terrified by the bigger bucks and jennies.
They’re also very easy to assemble. They've got like a cam action poly pipe on the side there that just snaps straight into place. And that's going to last the riggers out in the sun and out in the boat. It's a four entry pot.

It’s nice and compact. They do make then in larger sizes, but this size is great for convenience.
