Serdtse is a popular 1930s Soviet tango that traveled to Israel and became known in its Hebrew version as Rina--a young woman's name. The sincerely romantic language of the original was replaced with satirical verses, turning the song into a mockery of sentimental love.
Smuglianka was written in the 1940s in the style of a Moldovan folk song. It later became a Soviet favorite and eventually found its way to Israel, where it became Neurei Zahav.
