It just doesn't feel right to write off a character on the basis of real-life events. Chadwick's brother had also said that Chadwick would have loved for the role to be recast. Even I want Eric Killmonger to be the new Black Panther but the fact this is a serious movie and making Eric Killmonger as the Black Panther just feels unrealistic....
We saw in black panther that the actual black panther's power comes when T'Chala drinks the herbs. But we know that garden was destroyed by Killmonger. So will we see the next black panther get the power of the actual black panther?

Most Idiotic theory: T'Challa pays a visit to the Atlantis months after the earthquake incident occurs and meets Namor. But since Wakanda has never offered aid to their people after the incident and used all the resources for themselves, Atuma who held a grudge against the Wankandan empire, kills T'Challa. How you ask? Maybe T'challa was unarmed for a peacekeeping ceremony with Atlantis. Enraged queen of Wakanda, declares war against the Atlantis.
