indonesia never received their independence, its not a gift tho. they fight for it, and they fight hard. indonesia had been colonized for hundreds of years, and throughout those years, so many brave people died bcs of fighting for the independence, that's why even when indonesia has so many different languages, tribe, and ethnicity, they still considered them as ONE nation, and makes 17 of august being the biggest and sacred day in indonesia...
Honestly. We didnt. Usa dropped the bomb at japan. Japan fall back, we declare independence. But it was not recognize. We have to go thru countless discussion with the dutch, UN etc. And in the end, a deal was made.. our people always say we fought n get our independence, as if we won the war. @justiadykalvianto1064 when japan pulled back their army they tell Soekarno and hatta that they will gave independence for indonesia around 24 august or something i forgot, but when Soekarno and hatta arived in indonesia the youth of indonesia tells both of them that we need to declare it as soon as posible or even at that time, Soekarno refused at the first time then the youth of Indianesia kidnapped both Soekarno and hatta, they push them both to declare the independence as soon as posible and remind both of them about war regulations, a country that have been colonized by more than one country and then they lost the war and retreat those country will given back to the previous colonizer. So after japan pulled back their army from Indonesia, the dutch will have the right to take it back. Thats why finally mr Soekarno and mr Hatta declared the independence the next day 17 august 45. No dialogue with western country at all. The fact that some of them didn admit Indonesian independence thats why they came and invaded indonesia again.

In Indonesia we don't have fireworks celebrations to celebrate independence because it reminds us the sound of gunshots and the sound of bombs when it was colonized by the Dutch and Japanese, usually on the 16th night we pray together to give thanks and pray for the fallen heroes, and then on the 17th in the morning we do a flag ceremony, and then continue with various kinds of competitions between friends and neighbors for fun and togetherness until nightfall, sorry my english not good i hope you can understand ❤️ next react another video from Alffy Rev and video about Wonderful Indonesia tourism advertisement
Oh yes, that absolutely makes sense. Your Independence Day sounds much more meaningful and fun. And your English is perfectly fine, understood every word you said 🙂
If you are curious about why there is some subtitle and some not, because Novia is singing in many different "local languages". It is like a compilation of many traditional song from each region of Indonesia, and the song is uses each of the local languages. If you are aware, you might also notice that Novi is always changing clothes as the song is changing. That means Novi is using the traditional clothes of each region of the song. So, as the song changing in languages, the clothes are also changes.
Indonesia has more than 300 ethno linguistics group, and each ethnic have more than 1 languages, so that make in result that Indonesia has more than 700 local languages, that's why Alffy didn't put subtitle when it comes to traditional song. Because as an Indonesians, we don't even know and speak all of that thousand of languages, but one thing for sure we are share the united language called "Bahasa Indonesia", which means Indonesian language. So if we go all over Indonesia, as long as we can speak Bahasa fluently, we can comunicate to each other. As for foreigner, just have to speak little Bahasa, and English fluently, I think is enough to travel around Indonesia. Because we also can speak English, even though not everybody is fluent in English, that's why if foreigner can speak little Bahasa is necessary to help it.
The main singer is novia. She sing in some traditional songs (in different languages) from different part of Indonesia to represent diversity of Indonesia. Yeah we have Sooooooo many languages. Most Indonesian at least speak 3 languages. & modern Indonesian nowdays speaks 4 languages with English. Every independent day alfy make next chapter of this performance. August 17 is Indonesian's independent day I can't wait to see the next chapter 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

if, just if, you guys happened to be in indonesia during their independence day which is august, it would be one of the unforgettable moment of your lifetime, bcs indonesia celebrating their independence day like no any other countries in the world, you would see their flags attached to anything, by anything i mean literally ANYTHING, not just for one or two day, but for the whole month, everywhere you go, every step you take, you will see the flag as far as your eyes can see, every home, every shop, every building in indonesia will have at least one flag waving in their yard. and when it come to 17 of august, you will witnessing something amazing, everyone from different age, religion, ethnicity, tribes, or any kind of diversity, celebrating together by holding an event, some kind of traditional game for 3 to 5 days.

In case you'd like to understand what this video about, here are some details:
MOST PEOPLE WERE ASKING:
ARE THOSE FLOATING ISLANDS REALLY EXIST?
Of course no. What this video trying to tell is that we have plenty of unique historical sites spread over many different islands from west to the eastern part of the country.
Of course they're not floating in real except Pura Ulun Danu, Bali which situated on the lake.
Those floating buildings are; Rumah Gadang (Sumatera), Rumah Tongkonan (Tana Toraja), Borobudur Buddhist temple (Magelang), and Pura Ulun Danu (Bali). If I'm not mistaken, the Goddess statue where the singer starts her singing is at Royal Pitamaha, Ubud, Bali.
Again, All of the buildings and nature sceneries are real but yes, CGI effects applied to make it looks more cinematic.
WHAT ARE THOSE HEADPIECES SHE WORE?
Those headpieces (crowns) she wore called TIARA for females or MAHKOTA for males. In the past you must wear those kind of headpieces to identify yourself as a royal family member. Both Tiara and Mahkota are normally made of gold or silver with diamond installed in the middle of it. Every diamond placed in a Tiara or Mahkota can't be just a diamond. It has to be one with magical power.
Headpiece is one the most important outfits for almost every ethnic group in Indonesia. Even more important than shirts. In my original tribe and many others, we don't wear shirt for males, We usually wear 3 pieces of sarong (a loose cloth) to cover our waist up to the knee (No shirts on) and of course a headpiece. In my own tradition (Sasak in Lombok) headpiece isn't just an accessory. It is actually more as a symbol that you appreciate your head as the most important part of your body and to prove that you are responsible to protect it even from the heat.
Headpiece is the very first thing you wear when you're born. Your parent will have it made for you a month before you even born.
Nowadays, anyone can wear those kind of royal headpieces during their wedding ceremony and many other special occasions.
Traditional costumes worn in the video:
1. From the ethnic group (Tribe) of Dayak in Kalimantan called Ta'a (for females) Sapei Sapaq (for males). Their headpieces are made of Hornbill feathers. This is just one of the many traditional costumes belong to the Dayak tribe.
2. I think is from the Kohongian tribe in Sulawesi Utara. This just one of the many of them in Sulawesi Utara.
3. Based on the headpiece she wore, I think it is from the Asmat tribe called Sali made of bark and decorated with cassowary and bird of paradise feathers. Again, there are so many other traditional costumes in Papua.
4. Kebaya Labuh from the province of Riau.
5. Limpapeh Rumah Nan Gadang from the province of West Sumatera.
6. Payas Agung, Bali.
7. Kebaya Brokat from West Java.
8. Bula Molik (Crescent) made of silver and Gold, NTT.
WHAT ARE THEY SINGING?
(Please refer to the traditional outfits as well because the songs and outfits represent the region where they originated)
This video showcases 9 traditional folk songs from 9 ethnic groups out of 879 ethnic group with 1430 tribes existed in Indonesia. The main song is Bagimu Negeri - One of our national songs.
NOTE: As an Indonesian, there is no way you not gonna cry when singing or listening to that song. It is our oaths to the mother land. Our promises to the nation. And as the answer to the prayers of our parent which Alffy described perfectly through that young mother singing lullaby to her newly born son. A lullaby can't only be just a nice song to bring you to sleep, it consists a prayer, wishes and hopes of our parent to see us grow as someone useful to the nation. Nothing can make them happier than that.

WHAT IS THAT TRADITIONAL MUSICAL INSTRUMENT HE'S PLAYING?
That musical instrument is a traditional Dayak instrument called Sape. You must check out UYAU MORI playing Sape SOLO which will bring you into the world of true relaxations.
WHO DID THE SPEECH AND WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
It was the original proclamation speech done by our first president Soekarno.
WHAT IS THE SYMBOL THAT AWAKEN THE DRAGON?
It is called Surya Majapahit or known as Dewata Nawa Sanga - The 9 Gods that protect the universe from 9 different dimension compass wise.
WHAT ARE THOSE CREATURES?
The creatures you see at the end of the video are GARUDA and a Dragon known as ANTABOGA from the mythology of the ancient Majapahit kingdom . Antaboga is believed to be the guardian of the underearth dimension. That's why you will find it featured in many of our traditional carvings, crafts, and even in our architectural designs. Meanwhile, Garuda is the main symbol of our country (You can't really showcase it for commercial purposes because It's protected by law). Garuda itself is a huge gigantic bird that can only be found in Indonesia. And is believed by the Hindu as the main vehicle of God Vishnu.

12:31 in independence day we usually watch the flag ceremony in the morning and in the day we back to our neigborhood and the each neigborhood or distric usually held the event like games , parade , concert etc. But the most associated with 17 August is the game competition especially Panjat Pinang ( oily pole with prize such as bicycle, washing machine and anything basicly that hanging on top of the pole ) and each neigborhood in all city in Indonesia would make that kind of event.
