@@razorr_o No. half track is 660' as the track is a 1/4 mile track but the top fuel FC and dragsters stop at the 1,000' timer. This is really good for Bradenton. Sounds like the track quality and prep has paid off. Maybe this will bring a lot more events to the track and show the town it’s a valuable revenue source, keeping motorsports alive at least in this corner of the world.

Damn! What a run!!! Good on ‘ya Bob, for making this incredible effort happen, and to allow thousands of NON DRAG-RACING people to witness this all-American effort, and to entertain the people! Keep in mind- just by doing this one pass, and shredding the MPH record, it cost his team a LOT of $$$! This single run cost more than half of American families make in a year! However, don’t hate the racer! This is hard-earned money and time. He (or she) has sacrificed their entire lives in order to further their own version of human exploration. Drag racers live life on the edge of human achievement. This is ‘normal’ to the adventurer. This is money that the team will not recover. Please, donate and/or attend NHRA races! I cannot count how many “non-race car drivers” are still addicted to the NHRA, decades after I introduced them to the sport. (I had access to passes etc, so I fed it to them in small doses. Kinda like a drug dealer, I guess. Except they’re now taking their own children to the races….!) Anyway- thanks Bob! Great pass!
I'm old enough to remember the nickname "240 Gordie" Bonin, when 240mph in the ¼ mile was seriously moving. Wow, 341 in 1000 feet just seems impossible!
glad to see all the positivity about this run here on RUclips. On other platforms, people are losing their minds fighting, crying that this wasn't the fastest run in history because its not an NHRA event 🤦♂ When it's about breaking through just the 340 barrier lol not time and speed or based on a 1000ft run.....
I'm curious about something. In 2008 Top Fuel and Funny cars scaled back to 1000ft, in an effort to reduce the top speeds a bit following a fatal crash (and probably to save a little nitro which is ridiculously expensive).. Presumably every official speed measured since then has been at 1000ft.. But here's the thing. When they show the time slips on the app they use at Bradenton (from various other vids over the last couple days), it shows the time for 1000ft, and then just below it time and speed at 1/4 mile. So is this 341.68mph speed at 1000ft, or 1/4 mile? If the latter, then presumably anyone who just keeps their foot in it after the 1000ft, can keep pushing that top speed up this weekend. Or is the app just displaying the speed in the wrong place, and it's actually at 1000ft?
Bradenton Motorsport Park,... The only places faster are Bonneville and Black Rock in the USA, Hakskeen Pan in South Africa, and Lake Gairdner, Australia.

Poetic.
To limit top speeds, the NHRA restricts motor RPM, Rear Axle Ratio and Tire Diameter. So how do the keep going faster?
Clutches ignition tires
I remember when hitting 230 was a huge deal back in the 70's. I read an article in Hot Rod magazine when I was a kid. 230 was so last century.

Does anyone know what the g forces are on a run like this?
Between 5 and 6G at peak.
Sick run! How is this explained? Whats the main reason that makes the cars go faster and faster?
It's a new body on this car so perhaps an aerodynamic advantage, or perhaps track preparation. The conditions were ideal.
Sea level in February before all the humidity rushes in, and at night. Ideal indeed.

1000’. The parachutes are fully deployed and off the throttle at the 1/4. Bradenton has a short run off.
Is that 1/4 mile or a 1000 feet. Please respond. Thank you.
1000 feet, but it was faster than any quarter-mile speed as well. There has never been a wheel-driven piston faster than 330mph on the quarter.
