I love talking about Tarot, and I love sharing my spreads and tarot uses with you all. Here is my 'How To Read the Tarot with Playing Cards' for you to enjoy. In this video I go over how you can learn to read any deck of playing cards as if it were a deck of tarot cards. This is useful if you're not allowed to have a tarot deck, or can't safely or easily access one.

My aunt would use regular playing cards to do readings. She didn't do them often because she said she didn't like to know the future. She was very, very good though! This was more than 40 years ago.

My grandmother would have a deck of play cards for divination in her purse always. I think play cards are wonderful because it forces you to practice strengthening and having faith in your intuition rather than being bombarded by your ego’s critical thoughts. Traditional tarot is great but the images sometimes take away from the gift of channeling which we all have and must continue to foster . ❤

Same with my grandmother, just a deck of cards was all she needed.
Super cool that I came across this video. My Italian grandmother always read cards. I asked her once about Tarot cards and she told me she didn't like Tarot cards. She read standard cards. People would come see her and spread her name word of mouth. Grandma accepted "donations" and this helped her through her retirement until her death in 2006

A disadvantage is that there are no card reversals here. But what I like about this is that we can rely mostly on our intuition instead of on the cards. We need to go back to ourselves or the beings we serve instead of focusing on the cards themselves. I think that this is a really good way of doing it.

It is so funny you posted this, my son loves watching me pull cards and just last night he asked me if he could use his star wars playing cards like tarot, I knew there was a way of reading them similar to the tarot but it's not something I am well versed in so this is an excellent video to help teach him using a deck of cards he loves. I loved it. I never realized how easy tarot was to interpret just a matter of taking what I know about numerology and what I know about the elements from astrology and taking that and interpreting the cards with that knowledge. Thanks for the video.
yes exactly! It's so interesting when you figure out the formula that exists. Add on some intuition and BAM your readings are immaculate!
My dad passed away about three years ago. And every Monday he would lay out playing cards on the table and would be able to tell me, the weather, and if we would visitors that day, and he even knew I was pregnant before I did. Be was teaching me but then Covid took him out. I wish with all my heart he would taught me more. I want to know what he knew. So I’m happy I was able to find this to help me figure out what he kinda knew. At the same time. He was 82 when he passed, maybe what he knew was different. But regardless, learning these, is awesome!!! ❤❤❤
I’m not going to lie when I tell ppl that he could predict the weather they would be like I’m sure he would watch the weather channel, but no, he would lay his cards out on table every Monday. It was wild to me. But I miss and and loved it
What a beautiful memory! Reading these cards as tarot cards may not be quite what he was doing BUT it's a start. With all divination, your own personal symbol system, experience etc. will all flow into how you work with it and the results you can get. If you ever want to dive a bit deeper, I've got a course on psychic divination that would give you the best foundations to create a system like he was using.
A get-around for the Major Arcana is to use two decks of playing cards. The second deck of cards will use two sets of ace-to-ten suits and two jokers. The jokers of decks usually have different designs. Designate one joker card as the Fool and the other one as the World. You'll have to read your cards a little differently in that you will separate the Major and the Minor Arcana. If you sense that you need to draw from the Major Arcana, do it, but do not blend the cards. If the backs are the same, you won't be able to tell the difference between the Magician and ace of cups/swords, wands, or pentacles or you'd immediately know if you were drawing a Major card. As for the Page/Knight, I still have no solution.
I think there is beauty in them 'not' being identical to a tarot deck too. It gives more room for your intuition to come in.

Thanks for this! I've also began to just use the standard Minor Arcana meanings with playing cards after several years of acquiring Cartomancy books that all differ in their interpretations of individual cards. It just seems easier especially if you already have knowledge of the Tarot & readings. One way to look at the Playing Cards in this manner is to just associate them as a strictly Minor Arcana reading deck for general, everyday life situations- and save the Tarot for more important life events(births/weddings/endings, etc.). And yes, combining the Page & Knight card meanings for the Jacks really makes sense. Thanks again for your video!

I didn't really know what to think of Tarot and Witchcraft and stuff like that, but I was bored and I tried this out with some new playing cards. Holy crap lolllll Even with barely any knowledge of reading tarot, the three cards I pulled, I instantly knew what they ment in my own life. Edit: I'm being very honest. Yesterday only I got the idea to get a normal deck of playing cards to make my tarot deck (I'm a beginner). And I'm watching this video today. I literally marked the four suits in the same order you told in the video. I'm not kidding. I just got the feeling that I should mark them like that. I literally did no research at all until today, after I created my deck.

I known a Haitian voodoo priest who did a reading for me.. And they were on point.. I read people without cards.. But ive been dabbling in it and i love it thank u

My psychic used playing cards. She looked at them as if she were watching something and I asked “What do you see when you look at the cards?” She said she could see the people she told me about. She would describe them physically and was spot on.
Amazing, so that is slightly different to what I'm talking about. She's scrying with the cards to access her clairvoyance. The cards are a tool, but she's not reading them like tarot cards in that case. Still valid and super cool.
@@SuburbanWitchery yeh, she was gifted. I forgot to say that I went home to research why she used playing cards and learned that people say they’re more accurate than tarot.
@@Real.Flowers. Yes some people swear by them! Others can't get their head around it. Everyone works differently and a lot of the tiem it's about finding what works for you personally. That's what I aim to do with my Psychic Divination course, is show folks a variety of divination formats so they can find what clicks.

A video (magicorthoxdy) popped up. Being a collector of a culture I have that regular deck. His explanation stick to your first example there's so many other's and playing card stock is by far printed better and nothing to be scared of. Well every numerical card had a different meaning I testify to shorthand and my list. Thank god above for intuition guidance and the #444 being everywhere I looked yesterday. Blessings of my Angels were so apparent and have been my 12 yr old dog sits she'll bark then stare at the wall in circles repeats nothing there. I was also told that each card represents a week of the year., n each suit in a deck represents a season of the year. Therefore a deck of cards can be used like a calendar or to predict certain event dates what do you think?
52 cards = 52 weeks in a yr. 13 cards in each 4 suits = 13 weeks in each season. And I think if you add up all the numbers in the deck of cards it'll add up to the days in the lunar year

So funny how spirit led me around the cyber world to this video I been shuffling playing cards all day mocking tarot readers I absolutely love what they do is why I do it and I only have playing cards but as I kept going my intuition start talking to me I’ve never did it but is really interested in doing so as a kid I love these things but I knew how my family felt so now that I’m grown they don’t have to know and I don’t care lol

The way I do the cards is quite the same hearts is like dark love,daimonds of red is like damned, clubs all spirited fire up,spades is just brilliant path especially there higher card In each category is the biggest deal.😮 don't forget the joker but I haven't notice about that one all the way yet.

I wouldn't count the queen personally as she doesn't really have a number.
I just started, and I’m so confused on what the message is. My question is will a specific person reach out? And I got from left to right 5 of clubs/ace of diamond/ king of clubs/ace of spades/queen of clubs. I know aces are a start, is this spread trying to say that it will have to be up to me to reach out since it ended with a face card?
If you're just starting out, I recommend only pulling one card at a time. P.s. my tarot class is available in this bundle for this week only if you want to dive deeper into learning.

I've had such a fascination with playing cards growing up. But I wasn't into magic tricks or gambling. Ive read about Hoodoo Divination. And I was like A-HA!!! yes of course you could do this, but then you could just use the tarot deck if you have one available.
In a deck of cards there is usually a high and a low Joker. So how would you read each of those? Thank you in advance
Technically the Joker is a glorified Jack, but when reading for the Tarot it's best to utilise his court jesterness like the fool. You could choose to view the high joker as the positive atrributes and the low joker as the negative attributes of the fool card if you wish.
So today I decided to try out tarot. and I only have playing cards, so I am a complete noob and don't really know what I'm doing. as a question to try out I asked my spirit guides if my Brother in law who is single, if he would be good for a friend of mine who he has never met. so I'm sitting there with my eyes closed and shuffling trying to figure out how to phrase the question and 1 card falls out. I look at it and its the 2 of hearts. so is that a yes? lol. how would you interpret this?
haha omg the 2 of hearts would be the 2 of cups... which is the card most often used to represent love and relationships! Yes - that is a great sign and a big YES from the universe.
