I don't buy music very often but I had to buy this. It's so well done, most remixes don't keep the original feeling of the base track or build on to it very much. Best $1.69 I've spent.

This song relates so much to Gordon's memories of his time at Black mesa, his friends , colleagues and ofcourse his love for science and then slowly changes into the grim reality of the dark void that surrounds him.
I love this track so much. For me, it fits perfectly as to the actual impact the incident has. I can easily imagine this track playing to the image of the mass evacuations that began to occur as people fled from the state of New Mexico.

Typo isn't an excuse, because C and K are very far away from each other on the keyboard.
The beginning of the song makes me reminisce on when I was growing up playing source games back in their prime, and all the fun I had. Good times back then.
To me personally, this better fits the scene of a SCIENCE facility that went to shit. More techno involved.
I know that this is a year old, but Black Mesa IS a science facility.

Who's here for Half-Life 21st anniversary? This is a masterpiece and the best game even if it's old.
Imagine this.
You are in the winter, in the middle of a blizzard. You have nowhere to go. You've fought off about 2 bears and are near death. You are not prepared. They exiled you. But you will make them pay. You find some herbs to heal yourself up. You get a stick and make a torch. You put your crossbow, sickle and axe all in their holsters. You put all the berries and cooked meat in a backpack off of one of the people you killed in self-defense. You get up, and start walking.

This is just... awesome. Like, I can imagine the final battle against the Nihilanth set to this... an epic, but somber reprise of the main theme as you confront the one making Black Mesa into Hell on Earth. I'm really hoping Crowbar Collective makes that battle more climactic ('cause it looked pretty damn boring from the gameplay I've seen).

There isn't really any music that plays before you go to fight the Nihilanth. What does play is the lines of the scientist just before the resonance cascade and a somber ambient theme

I got late on the train of appreciating Half life music and remixes and I enjoy this so much. A hint of familiarity is present in such an original tune and it makes the melody feel more alive

It all has that feeling of destruction in the facility. The fact that they're bound to be wiped out by the ones who would help them. And this agonizing beat is the effort Gordon makes to get out alive, reach the portal and put an end to this

Weirdly, I like the mash up between the two aswell, Morch Black Mesa remix and Joel Nihilist V2. I tried on 2 different tab to play the songs simultaneously and they complete each other pretty well to my suprise. I thought to myself Nihilist is longer than the remix sadly, so it's gonna sound awkward but no both progressively faint till the end and the extra 45 sec Nihilist don't sound bad and just represent Nihilanth near death state.
5 min is long enough to defeat Nihilanth.

@@blueshark7385 Thanks for the reply. I don't know if this is true but VALVE said that they took the Copyright off of Half-Life 3. So probably some other game maker will make it, I hope it's going to be Crowbar Collective.
