But if you think about it, his schedule for Game of Thrones probably did not fit with the schedule of the Seventh Son which is why he did the sixth son apprentice role instead because it did work with his schedule. I'm not sure you've read the books. No offense because the books aren't that well known. I would assume you're right about the apprenticeship role but Kit wouldn't've been an apprentice as a sixth son. If the people that made the movie put enough detail in you would see all of the names of the past apprentices that carved their name on Tom's wall. In order to be taken on as an apprentice, you need to be the seventh son of a seventh son because you can see and hear things that people can only vaguely sense when they are near the entity. In the books Tom is currently thirteen I think but in the movie he's like seventeen plus. I think they did that so Alice and Tom could have a romance and they wouldn't need to make thirteen movies. Or they were given a script by a third-grader after they were given a summary of a summary on the first book because I don't remember Tom fighting a dragon in the first book. If you want to read books, and the movie was probably mediocre but the books are awesome, then you should read either "The Last Apprentice" or "The Spook" is what it's called in the UK I think. It can get dark when it wants to but it's a really good series.

Most of theem are malevolent so the rest of them are sometimes shunned and people don't understand then. But for good reason because the malevolent witcher ( the evil) obviously obduct people children and use their blood and bones.
I really do recommend the "Last Apprentice" books (which "Seventh Son" is *very loosely* based on). It's a really good dark fantasy series despite being young-adult books. This movie doesn't do it justice.
with all respect to jeff bridges, he is an amazing actor, extremely talented and could easily play any roll you throw at him, but dude, can someone tell him that "gruff" voice of his doesn't work? he sounds like he's talking with a mouth full of pudding, he doesn't do it a lot except his movie and RIPD, but i just think if he used his regular voice he would sound just fine

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie bcuz I had no prior knowledge of the lore of this world. Via the book. When I saw this scene I thought to myself “Dang! The Apprentice is doin all the hard work. That sucks.. but I guess it’s in the job description.”

The books made the monster seem way more evil and the spooks weren’t badass killing machines they were simply executioners. Witches were op as all hell
I knew the movie was going to suck when they had Ben Barnes who at the time was 30 years old playing what is supposed to be a 12-13 year old boy in the books, but I wasn’t prepared for just how badly it was going to suck despite the cast. If it wasn’t supposed to be based on the first Last Apprentice book I may have enjoyed it at least a bit, but because of how unfaithful to the source material it is, it was garbage.
