For the pound cake incident, I get what u say that she may have been hallucinating cuz the person that was following her never harmed her but the whole point of stalking most of the time is to just watch the person out of personal pleasure or to just scare them
There are "Trail Angels". These people leave bottle water and food along a part of the trail. They also help the hikers. Also, hikers will leave their own cache in places to use if they intend to come back that way. I'm an old woman who has hiked the trail in different states.
People who hunt bears sometimes put sweets in a tree as a trap. So Mr.Ballen saying it could have been Feral men makes sense. Those “men” probably were bored.
Yes. There a places with people living off the trail. There are hostels along the trail. There are also small towns. The part of the trail I live by goes across a paved road. One side is a hostel & parking lot. The other side is a parking lot, bathrooms, tables, etc. You literally have to go around the hostel, across the road, and thru the parking lot to continue on the Appalachian trail.
That the three kids were found together is noteworthy: it means that the two oldest stayed with the youngest, who wouldn't have had their turn of speed. They didn't run for their lives and leave the youngest behind; they stayed iwth him, even when being chased by a bear and/or a gorilla. [] He was in a boat on a river and was being followed by men on the shore. While he stayed in the boat he'd be safe - and if he landed on the other side of the river he'd be safer still. He died from inhaling his own vomit - but he was found face down. I suppose it's still possible to suffocate face down, but ...
That bear incident, if it was a bear that was chasing the kids, it could’ve possibly wanted to play w them, a lot of bears are actually and really playful w kids and don’t hurt them, especially the bear cubs
So for the first girl I don't think I would have left the trail because at least you might run into someone on it. Your taking a big risk by leaving the trail and just start walking in the middle of nowhere.
Story 1 - Infrasound, it causes fear and paranoia, and there are a few animals in the Americas that use infrasound to communicate and to hunt. You can not hear infrasound but your body can feel it and will respond to it with fear/dread. The response is believed to be a genetic leftover from our ancestors who were regularly hunted by animals in Africa, Europe and Asia who used infrasound to hunt (mainly big cats). But there is a cryptid in North America that is reported to use infrasound and there are now several hundred hours of recordings of this unknown animal in nearly every state in the US and in all Canadian provinces that are verified to have infrasound components. The lady's story matches hundreds of other reports of campers and hunters across North America who have encounters with this unknown cryptid.
You think about it, when you're lost in the woods, your mind can mess with you. Causing you to have all kinds of hallucinations. So, with the girl in the 1st story, I think it was the idea that she was lost in the woods, and I think her imagination was running wild.
Second story, I believe they did see a gorilla or a gorilla like creature simply cause the 5 year old would also see it and be able to collaborate. We never know what is up in these woods. I heard of escaped animals in the Northeast they could've traveled.
The only way those kids could've out ran a bear is if it was injured or had a past injury that made it so can't run as fast. When it comes to then seeing a gorilla it isn't impossible since it could've been brought into the area as someone pet and it escaped. There have been a good amount of cases smuggling animals to be pets and them escaping.
Yeah when me & my dad hiked 40 miles on the Appalachian trail I was maybe 16, had pepper spray, bear spray, a pocket knife, a buck knife & pops had the Handgun. If I was old enough I would have had a Glock out there too. Don’t go into the woods without a gun
Random but y’all ever lose something in your home and know for a fact you put it in a specific place? I’ve lost a head of lettuce that I just opened and literally a minute later, it was gone from the fridge. Only me and my mother were home at the time and I had the lettuce out bc I was making her lunch for work so no one used it after I put it away. We never found the lettuce.
She could have been hallucinating with the pound cakes is there proof of said pound cakes and donuts? If it's true and the person never harmed her... well one reason is he was a stalker who get off just watching and following their victim and seeing her alone and completely scared and helpless was one reason he probably never attacked her. Another one is it was a game he wanted to chase her and wear her down push her to the breaking point before he finally did attack her or if really twisted he would have waited till she was close to death then appear as a kind random person to offer assistance then take her and give her food water and clean her up with promise of he's going to take her into town or call police but never does and well I have a whole story brewing in my head rn....so I think I'll cut it short 😅 but point is she got lucky... whether or not she was being stalked she would have been dead...
Too many blows to the head will do it. At least he was alone when he had this breakdown and didn’t do something to his family during his states of paranoia.
The Appalachian Trail covers 14 States. I live in one of the States and would often go to one of the check points. Ive often thought about hiking , but Im definitely not going alone. I need a group. Here are the 14 states youll pass through if you start in Georgia Georgia North Carolina Tennessee Virginia West Virginia Maryland Pennsylvania New Jersey New York Connecticut Massachusetts Vermont New Hampshire Maine
As someone who live in New York and has camp several times on the Appalachian trials, i would not hike alone. The trial is very isolated and rocky, not to mention unpredictable steep and cold and wet weather. The first i went hiking i ended up spraining my ankle on a rock
In the second story, isn’t it normal bc or kids to run to their parents when they are scared? Also, they were close enough to their parents, how did the parents not hear a bear growling and the kids screaming?
Leaving the trail vs hiking through woods that you are not certain where the road is? Stay on the trail. There are frequently people who hike the trail and you would have a better chance of running into someone on the trail than in the middle of the woods. Also, as I've said other times, carry a gun.
I believe in that last story, was false. No one was chasing him. it was all in his mind because of his football injury. He did play with a broken collarbone and never told anyone. So might not of told people about his brain injury and over time it got worse. Now about that scream that person heard. It could of been him thinking the 2 strangers were chasing him. In the end it was all in his mind because of the injury. Such a sad story at the end.
Bruh what.. “hey honey, I’m in a boat and two guys are on land and they are following me. I’m going to take my clothes off.” Dude get drugged at a rave or what?
what makes all these stories bull. Are the suppositions that they thought, they feel, they heard. How does the storyteller know what the thoughts or feelings of this person are? There was nobody with her to express these emotions with.
Um probably because the person in the stories have told what happened to them and explained their thoughts and actions while it was happening. Not to hard to understand.

I do not know if this is true, but some people place food around the wilderness so that any one lost can have some food randomly.
Is this something from word of mouth or

This is true. It's not as common as it used to be though.

I think that first girl was just freaking herself out. The mind can play tricks on you If you really believe someone is following you.
I think the gorilla might've been a Bigfoot in my opinion.

Just love watching you two jam to MrBallen's theme. And the things he does to the like button are not cheesy! They're absolutely DIABOLICAL! 😆

15:07 happy magical sound effect 😊
It was a bigfoot protecting the kids from the Bear 🐻
I thought that too, the kids might have seen a Bigfoot. That would make sense with them seeing a gorilla

Grizzly bears exist..take a AK 47 or any assault rifle

YES always
YES. Thus happened to me with a couple toys as a child, but no one believes me. There's a name for this, but I forgot what it was.
A year late to this post but my family had a joke about this phenomenon. We used to say that the "hobo in the attic" stole the item.
Vee 💯 I wouldn't be in the woods especially by myself INSANITY 😓
All Love and Peace!!! Have a Blessed Day🙃🙃🙃
To a seven year old, perhaps a bear appears like a gorilla when it stands on it’s hind legs? Maybe a kid just isn’t expecting that.
This is why I love living in the dessert. None of this bullshit out here.
24:12 For one thing, Gorillas don't live there. Unless it was an escaped Gorilla from a zoo.
Bro kids don't lie when something scary happens to them
