- James is a serial adventurer, motivational speaker and Scouting ambassador.
On 1st February 2014, James became the first and only person to have rowed across the Atlantic Ocean, successfully summited Mount Everest and cycled 18,000 miles around the world.
Seven years prior to all this, he was recovering from a serious motorcycle accident that left him with broken legs as well as a severely broken and dislocated ankle. The prognosis was that he was likely to suffer a permanent walking impairment and would certainly not be able to continue the active physical lifestyle he had enjoyed up to that point.

Great to see Le Touquet again. I flew into there back in 2007 in a microlight from Headcorn on way to Blois for annual ultralight fair. Thanks for sharing
Another great video! Love your choice of music too. Lifts the video to a new level! Thank you
Thanks for sharing a great video.
James - love the video and agree Le Touquet is awesome. I know the walk well that you took - lovely tree lined into a lovely town. Next time you fly in remember WW2 ace & fellow Dubliner ☘️ - Wing Commander Brendan (Paddy) Finucane DSO DFO & Two Bars who was shot down over Le Touquet by ground fire from one of the gun emplacements (still there) near the beach. I just love the video.
Wow! What freedom!
Inspiring stuff. Thank you for posting.
Love how wide angle Go pros show the 'curvature of the earth'.😁 Makes every trip look like a U2 flight!😁😁
All the best for your world trip... bit further than I like to go in my gyro :)
Immersion suit for over water flight?
Hi James...actually, the sound was not bad in the flying sequences...and the pylon views were brilliant...I can't wait for the views from there during the 'big one'. A great little tour of Le Touquet too and you content skills are getting better I think.
I missed you inReach message but if you PM me we can arrange for one tomorrow...to check in flight comms.
All in all, I loved this :-)
it's nice to see you takeoff and landi the gyro! Do have a lot of turbulence when flying the gyro?
I love u sir
Hey so you where at my school yesterday and i have a question. When you are in the gyrocopter you get to a certain height where it drops in pressure how will you prevent you from getting headaches? Or will you not get that high
Colin Roberts That’s a good question the answer is, I won’t be flying that high 👍
Where do you stay in Le Touqute?
I am from INDIA
