- Many of the fasteners on a Honda trail CT 90/110 need to be accurately tightened to a specific torque. But if you don't have a torque wrench, what can you do? Watch this video & find out.
Poor man's torque wrench. This is awesome.
Poor man's torque wrench. Why didn't I think of that lol. Thanks for watching & commenting.
Now that is brilliant! I never would have thought of using a baggage scale to perform this task.
Thanks Eric, I do own two torque wrenches but I hope this hack demystifies torque settings for many people.
I have hanging weighing scale which supports only 5kg maximum.
Can I apply 4.5kg at 18.1inches away from the bolt?
Will this generate torque of 15 foot pounds?
Calculations with 6.8kg or 15 lb:
15 lbf = 6.80389kg
6.80389kg* 12inches = 81.64668
Calculations with 4.5kg or 9.9 lb:
9.9208 lb = 4.5kg
4.5kg * 18.1437inches = 81.64668@@Free_Ranger_CT110
Thanks a million, Mr. Free Ranger that will help me torqueing up the cylinder head of my Honda GX160 generator engine
Good one Andrew!
I used to torque VW engine heads before i had a torque wrench with a gallon milk jug full of water @ 33 inch arm
Good one!
Did you figure this out all by yourself? Of course you did because you're a smart cookie! Have to be careful with that torquing!
A few oil changes ago after I properly torqued my oil drain plug, "someone" was checking my work and got a little torquey... broke my plug 😅🤷♀️
That 'someone' wouldn't happen to be a T for Torque man would it! Thanks for your comment & kind words.
@@Free_Ranger_CT110 😂😂😂 you'll see... It is in my Sunday video... Good guess! 😁👌👏👍💜
Oh dear I hope he wasn't in the dog house for too long!

Almost.... 14.7 ft-lb.
Thank you@@Free_Ranger_CT110
Thanks I didn’t know that’s how it’s worked out / rated.
Yeah for me it's easier to understand in imperial ft-lbs units. But in whatever units it's still force x distance. Thanks for watching.
