Lyrics // Star-crossed eyes and cross-eyed stars No use hiding age old scars Well, you're not here, and I can't be still I don't think I'll sleep until I see you The strongest will, the softest touch I never thought I'd have so much You call me out and rein me in Riding through the rain again tonight Hold my hand and ease my aches Wake me up when my fever breaks I'm laying down my soul, the answers that I can't know And the pain I thought I never would let go of Well, these days we got hell to pay And we got rigid roles to play And driving 'round this neighborhood Just ain't doing me no good at this time But darlin' when you reach for me It feels just like infinity Honey help me break this curse Howling at the universe again Hold my hand and ease my aches Wake me up when my fever breaks I'm laying down my soul, the answers that I can't know And the pain I thought I never would let go of
Personally I like your order songs then these newer ones but this one is out the newer ones is one I actually like . Wish ya sing more the style you use to like Cherokee that song was so deep and you could feel the raw pain the emotion. Think your new songs just don't hit the same as your old ones did.
@@JerseyMiller not mad either just curious. Chuck Prophet used a bunch of cool hip-hop sounds on records like Hurting Business and it was still Americana.
Beautiful.. I'm there too!! Breaking that fever.. and in love!
Thank You John Moreland, thank you

Star-crossed eyes and cross-eyed stars
No use hiding age old scars
Well, you're not here, and I can't be still
I don't think I'll sleep until I see you
The strongest will, the softest touch
I never thought I'd have so much
You call me out and rein me in
Riding through the rain again tonight
Hold my hand and ease my aches
Wake me up when my fever breaks
I'm laying down my soul, the answers that I can't know
And the pain I thought I never would let go of
Well, these days we got hell to pay
And we got rigid roles to play
And driving 'round this neighborhood
Just ain't doing me no good at this time
But darlin' when you reach for me
It feels just like infinity
Honey help me break this curse
Howling at the universe again
Hold my hand and ease my aches
Wake me up when my fever breaks
I'm laying down my soul, the answers that I can't know
And the pain I thought I never would let go of

fell in love the first time I heard John Moreland!
Perfect timing... My fevers breaking right now! Great song.
Amid the barren landscape that is modern American music comes this undeniable masterpiece. Thank you
....And he hits another one out of the park!
John Moreland is the best to do it since Dylan
Jonathan Mitchell Dylan’s rambling ass wishes he was this consistent
@@travisshannon8562 Music isn't a compitition but if it was Dylan is in trouble..😂

Really good song...but that snare is annoying as hell.
