croatia is really strong and have a good tactics, great spirit, never surrender mentality and quality players... but i can't understand serbia, have a lot of quality players there... jovic, vlahovic, radonjic, mitrovic, milinkovic-savic etc... players who are one of the best in their positions, and they don't functionate as a crew at all... i mean, you have strenght, height, and most of all speed... and you lose like that... i expected more from serbia...
It's wrong tactics at this WC. You can't have a starting lineup consisting of 3 defensive minded players, 7 offensive minded players and expect to win decisive WC games. But they will have better days. they will probably qualify for EURO 2024, and are playing in A league in the next Nations League. So, they made a huge improvement in the last year. And the players you named are good, but still not top tier except for Kostic (great wingback) and Mitrovic (best striker in the world in scoring headers and winning aerial duels in the box). Vlahovic still has to prove himself at the highsest level. The rest are just average players that every top 25 team in the world have.

@@plankton6157 it was naive. They conceded 9 goals in 8 matches in qualifiers. 4 of those matches were against Luxembourg and Azerbaijan, and they managed to concede 3 goals. They had one clean sheet in qualifiying campaign. But everyone forgot about that because they were playing attacking football. But when you come to the tournament like World Cup, there is no Azerbaijan and Luxembourg. There are teams that can defend much better, and attack much better. So the result was 8 conceded goals in 3 games. They did score 5, because they did play attacking football again. But no team can get a result in big tournament like that. It was ridiculous. Hope they will learn from that and get even better. If your best players are attacking minded, that doesn't mean you can just foget about defending. But, if nothing else, their games were fun to watch for neutral fans.
And what is funny is that every expert says that it is much easier to train and set up the defence than attack. They got it all backwards. Stojkovic needs few assistants that know what they are doing, and Serbia can get a good result in 2024.
