Whenever I see a video of Anomaly and Papanomaly it makes me very happy that he has a father that endures and tries all that with him. Anomaly is a lucky one to have a father like his. He probably has so many funny memories with him and I hope you will make a ton more! Papanomaly is the best!
Hey Ludde, If you like I can send over some more Tao Kae Noi. They have 12 different assortment of flavours. Very popular snack made in Thailand. The mouth-numbing effect from eating that hotpot is from a spice called "Mala". Its a strange sensation for first-timers for sure.
The taste of self-heating hotpot is very different from actual hotpot that we eat, wouldn’t recommend it even as a Chinese and a hotpot enthusiast myself.

MSG has a sort of diminishing returns when it comes to making things taste better, also having more than 3 grams a day can give you adverse effects like headaches 😢
My man anomaly, that chemical i tasted in hot pot is probably hydrogen and some other stuff that got released from heating package under, cuz ur food wasn't covered and heating element is giving away a lot of hydrogen in the process. It is not deadly, just... not very good for health in general
That hot pot, meat noodle thing probably had coriander (or cilantro, if you call it that) it tends to taste a bit perfumey or soapy for some people- including me.
I bet it was like. Expired since 5 years ago or something. Food tend to get that taste you described when it's so far gone it can be use as a bio weapon.
