this may be the most accurate depiction of making a project. it always seems like for me i am spending half the time getting a tool or bench ready to use and moving things out of the way.
Thanks for the inspiration, I've been procrastinating on plane/chisels/saw/etc. storage too. Half of it winds up laying in the tool well or scattered.around the shop, the other half gets piled on top of a metal cabinet like you had your planes. I think I'm going to do something very similar with the plywood and border, but I'm going to add doors so I can try for airtight and use descant or camphor for rust prevention
Concerning jointer planes, I use my big wooden rubanks/long planes/jointers a lot! Because they are light compared to metal planes they are pretty versatile.
24:00 ish heads up on the brad nailer, the nails are way more likely to go left and right than up or down, if you hold it "sideways" they tend to stay in the wood better if they hit a harder part
Oh nice, I've got to make a plane storage myself like this. I just got started into woodworking the last two months and I've got a workbench in a space I share and the shelf I made beneath it the table top is cluttered already with my first two stanley planes and chisel planes and jigs. That set and the Router and Draw knife looks real slick. Nice work for a piddling workday!
I feel ya! Had the take down virus (not COVID) starting Christmas Day and for the next 3 weeks. (The new year started and I didn't even know). Not back to dust making yet.
Chicken soup for sure. Get some of the real stuff & not that over salted canned crap. Get better man. Great project & cleanup. Except for that messy floor. LOL
we've been there ! Enjoy your soup! Thanks for taking us into the shop today !
Great little project. Get well soon.
Great to see you back on here! Hope you feel better soon! Nice project on the planes, btw!
Always worth watching. Fun seeing the cleanup with before and after. Camera shots and lighting fantastic. Great seeing the shop again.
Brother needs a nice vacation !

Pretty sure my wife suggested to clean as I go, but, like you, I am just a man. I feel your pain
