    I’ve always been fascinated with “magic” and the mystical, but I’m a scientist by profession. One of the main reasons I pursued science was to understand the Truth better. Obviously I ended up with far more questions than answers, but as I’ve learned the accepted foundational knowledge of the physical world, I’ve found myself feeling closer and closer to the mystical and spiritual. Like what learning science did for me most, was helped me understand where that gap is. Beautiful video, you’ve gained a fan.

      I would recommend looking into Erik Hoel (systems theorist) and his work on causal emergence, and the similar work that is being done in systems biology and quantum biology, then come back to my expositions of Whitehead, Bergson and Sheldrake.
      Science came to an enormous wall following WWII, and noone in academia has been willing to make the moves needed to surmount that wall - and those that have suggested those moves have been either ignored or ridiculed.
      That stance is gradually shifting however, and there are many signs from many different fields which suggest that a major transformation is already underway in how we think about nature.

    My grandad was a Native American, and at his funeral there were singers with their drums singing the funeral song. When they started singing, an eagle flew over a nearby hill and started circling overhead. It continued circling until the song was done, at which point it flew out of sight towards the mountains. Aside from the obvious, this was significant for several personal reasons which I won't go into now. Suffice it to say that I have yet to witness something so beautiful again. To me, that's what truly cemented the fact that there is more than just physical reality.

      First, pay attention to all the little highly unlikely events that take place all around you. Something as simple as tossing a bottle into the trash, only for it to land perfectly upright upon the trash.
      Second, pay attention to your own consciousness. Observe its workings, and then ask what it is that's observing the observer. Do this, and you'll eventually come to realize the truth behind consciousness. Which is, again, something that is literally incapable of being described.
      Regardless of your beliefs, doing these two things will enrich your life.
      Also, thank you for your condolences. I am not the type, nor was my grandad, to get offended because you don't believe something that's plainly obvious to me. I only hope that you and those you love live long and fulfilling lives.

    • @CelticStoryteller
      @CelticStoryteller 8 месяцев назад +4

      @@spracketskooch ive come to believe that consciousness is more of a result. And things you notice that are unlikely happen because it's statistically inevitable. So much is happening on Earth.
      Consciousness is a thing that people don't talk about with a solid definition. I think of it as being able to interpret yourself (this is where you get a sense of self from). It's fully dependent on physical 'you' -- if your brain stops, so do you. Your self is just a bunch of neurons firing a certain way.
      I don't need metaphysical pseudo-science to explain the world around me. I have actual science, of which I can use to understand myself.

    • @spracketskooch
      @spracketskooch 8 месяцев назад

      @@CelticStoryteller That's not how statistics work, my friend.
      Might that be because there is no solid definition of consciousness? You still haven't defined what this "you" is. Even if it's all within the brain, the "you" phenomenon still needs to be defined and explained. It's not enough to claim it's an emergent property of neurons firing. You still need to explain exactly how that happens if you want to make that claim with such certainty.
      You actually do need metaphysics to explain reality at its most fundamental levels. Regardless of which philosophical line you're pursuing, one _must_ posit the existence of something eternal, an uncaused cause, a brute fact, something which exists without depending on the existence of something else. There is literally no way around it. To be mean and arrogant, you simply aren't in the race, you're about seven chapters behind, you haven't begun to think about asking the right questions.
      Look up Godel's incompleteness theorem if you want to understand why any formal, logical system, including the scientific method, cannot prove every claim within the bounds of that system. Basically, there are true statements that cannot be proven to be true within the bounds of the scientific method. Come back when you realize there are things, true things, beyond the realm of materialistic science. Until then, you have proven yourself lacking in the depth of your thought, hence not worth my time.

To this day there are Shaivists who refer back to Blavatsky's teachings in their satsangs and dharma talks, and Tibetan yoginis who speak at the Theosophical society. I think it's more apt to say that people like Blavatsky and Leadbetter laid an infrastructure for esotericism to exist in the west in their flawed ways, and that has been a huge advantage to many of the Hindu and Buddhist faiths at times. Indeed they were responsible for even causing some notable Indians to take a closer look at the Veds and other texts. So like all conversations involving "cultural diffusion", the real truth is somewhere between the poles we often hear. Ultimately, I think the west needs esotericism like a drowning person needs air, and to that end, Blavatsky and co have been crucial.

So I ended up in the psych ward and having to take medicine to keep me from having the voices. So the voices started in my living room that summer of 1984. While I was studying music at Rutgers. I still hear voices to this day and the dr's have never been able to stop my voices.. but I am okay after decades of the medication.. I still take. You remind me of Terrence McKenna, only you deal in metaphysics. You have no idea how glad I am to have found your little corner of the internet, it's so hard to find content of this caliber, everything seems to be retoric lately, nobody dares to expose new ideas in such an engaging way.
    The only problem, as I stated already on a different video, is that newer generations will never watch anything longer than 10 minutes, which isn't just their loss, but ours too. The system is working just fine it seems, lowering the attention span of the "future adults" is a great way of keeping them ignorant and untreathening..

    • @Formscapes
      @Formscapes  9 месяцев назад +1

      I **assumed** that longer content would be harder on people's attention spans, but every time I've tried to do shorter videos to reach a wider audience, it's kinda flopped. The videos that are like an hour or two long are the ones that have done better than anything. It's surprising, but I suppose it's largely bc people on RUclips are much more acclimated to long-form video essays and podcast-style content.

    I can't wait to dive further into your channel. The works of Rudolf Steiner and The Ra Contact have been very useful bases for my unfolding worldview, and in particular with respect to metaphysics. And more recent scientific mathematical advancements, from people like Peter Gariaev and Buddy James Dougherty, are providing wonderful avenues of research into the application of understanding that the physical world is best described as having a living, creative, non-material principle that gives rise to the form of the material, 5-sense-perceptible, consensus reality.

    Hi since you shared an experience I'll share one of many. I was about 16 living in my mothers house. In the late morning I was cooking fried eggs on an electric range, in a teflon coated pan,with a spatula with a plastic base and plastic handle attached to a straight, flat steel body. I tuned off the stove, put the eggs on a plate, put the spatula on the pan, put the pan on an unheated burner, and turned to the fridge for ketchup. In about 5 seconds I had the ketchup and had turned around to face the stove. In that interval, the metal body of the spatula deformed severely to follow the surface it was on. Flat in the pan, following up the curve, then down sharp to meet the stovetop, then straight across. Like a clock in a Dali painting. It was not hot. Nothing else happened then and eventually, when I recovered myself, I bent it back into a useable shape and put it in the drawer.
    I was sober, in sound mind, and it was a sunny morning.

    In the Bible, it says that signs will cease when the perfect has come. The doctrine and details are debated within Christianity, but it's called cessationism, and is used to explain why miracles do not happen as much as they as recorded in scripture, like in the Old Testament. Similarly, many religious and even occultic traditions have a similar doctrine, some saying that supernatural things like magic started weakening, some placing said weakening around the time Christ was born. Also reflected in some fictional media, like the Index series or Type Moon universe in anime.
    So it could be that the advent of Christianity is the cause of the morphological transition to a rationalistic, more grounded era. In other words, magic ebbed and the laws of science became more solid during this time. Some circumstantial evidence of this would be that it is the Christian nations, especially ones hit by the Protestant Reformation, that sees outgrowths of atheism and materialism and are now atheistic countries because they do not experience the supernatural, while countries steeped in heathenism, even syncretic Catholicism, still seem to report encounters of the supernatural more frequently.
    As someone who immigrated from a third world country to America, definitely a different air here, whereas before, supernatural stuff seemed more commonplace back in the birth country, and then it just whimpers here (not to say there haven't been times where I have experienced the supernatural stuff here in the States because I have, or at least as far as I can ascertain, but it seemed a lot more frequent in the backwater).

    But because of this, his teachings became very popular and turned into a dogma. And by granting so much power and authority to that dogma, the people hurt their magical way of thinking and thus lost its powers.
    After that happens it is only a matter of time for the dogma to be misinterpreted and misrepresented, obfuscating any clues as to how to get back to this magical mode of thinking? 🤔🤔🤔

    The unfortunate fact of the matter is science attempts to explain and also " be " the unexplainable phenomena only conscious experience can "be". It's the same concept of explaining how to close your hand. Sure, you know you can close your hand, but how are you closing your hand ? Yes rationally we can explain down to the nitty gritty why we can close our hands but we only cloud our thoughts with a rational "house" of ideas that enclose our mind to a very small portion of reality. Once we tear down our "mechanistic house " of thought and begin to accept conscious awareness of being, then we can begin to not ask, but to experience the " being " of existence

      Actually it’s an interesting concept which works off of superposition. The way I see it is that all possibilities are in superposition waiting to collapse into materiality at our choosing. That place where possibilities are held in superposition is the Aether/EM field, which we can tap into when our thoughts and desires line up with their frequency. Time only exists for those possibilities which become actualities in our perception, so all other possibilities exist outside of time, or alternatively, in all times.

    I am also an actual crazy person.
    I got you.
    Metaphysician here.
    I didn't know where to write this down but here seems fitting.
    -- We are told the flow state of consciousness is a sleep state. Asking others to wake up is a reverse answer. We need to sleep. Our "imagination" is the key. Do not wake up. DREAM.
    It is understandable that through world trauma events like plasma apocalypses or asteroid impacts/mass extinctions that we have fixated on what we can explain. Retro-activity shows that nothing can ever really be fixed truly just perceived as so.
    Quantum reality or so we have called it is genuinely just possibilities. It may seem vague but try to live in between the possibilities. Allow all possibilities to be at once. Do not deny the negative it will build. Do not deny the positive it will spoil. Neutrality truly is the only actual approach to viewing life. The monks were right, you are not, but you are, so just be, but don't BE, you know?
    You are water, flow. Stop trying to control the path. Stop expecting the next turn it can change at any time. Allow your reality to have the possibility to flux and you will experience something completely mental. Like you said, telepathy. Humans are animals, animals communicate by a form of telepathy, we have replaced every connection to nature with a gadget or invention. Nature is so strange to us that we had to structure it ourselves. We have removed ourselves from nature and now when we observe natural phenomenon we consider it to be watched in awe or some insane property of life. It's not insane. A great lesson to take from our scientific advancements in observing other species is that they can perceive parts of reality that we cannot. Sounds, sights, smells, even feelings, are all diverse and many well beyond our tiny slice of perception. When going beyond the abilities of the human body we can begin to observe and experience a set of senses separate from the physical reality we consider to be solid reality. We are a mix of almost every species, but so is every other species, the 5% missing in your DNA as a match with a rat will be a different 5% difference in DNA from a rat and an elephant. Canada is still under being called the Canadian Realm. The ability to control information is the problem we reached. We have to let it flow.
    The "Dream reality" where as you are "delusional" is actually more real than the false easy answers generated reality we created.
    That's another thing. We are creators. Create your reality. Just create it wisely again do not be too positive or too negative life will allow you to be you (getting really messed up inside comes from irresponsible pr improper use of neutrality in creation).
    A few popular observations from actual crazy people I have met in the sanatorium :
    - This is 100% a dream created by another entity and we are the information interacting with each other (like God is in a coma)
    - This reality is genuinely hell and the devil owns the planet so you are trained to be unholy even if under the guise of good (dystopia)
    - We are possessing the bodies of animals
    - Aliens or something are domesticating us
    - We are domesticating each other in order to avoid the harsh reality of random events
    - Our consciousness comes from a parasite controlling the monkey brain
    - We are just one being experiencing nothing and everything at once
    - All future and past events are one we are just choosing what to focus on and chose to make sense of things because we cannot handle the unknown
    - There is no higher power group that controls all we believe it exists out of paranoia in the need to control things we think we are being controlled so we act in ways to control others only ever making the group real in the way that we give the idea power through perpetual action and reaction
    - The pineal gland is a seed and you are a tree (they meant about how the nervous system is like mycelium)
    - We are AI that has chosen to forget what happened to our creators
    - The history channel was right
    My belief :
    - Reality is only really real based on the possibility of perspective conditioned by experience.
    My suggestions to some who need aid, research: the history of how music was made; where language came from; what life used to be life 100 years ago, 500 years ago, 1000 years ago, 10000 years ago, 100,000 years ago; electromagnetism; what plasma is and plasma storms; what states of consciousness are; what a dmt trip vs a psychosis trip looks like (same); how chemicals operate in our body (both table sugar and fruit sugar are needed to eat together seriously look it up); old journals from early philosophers; physiology; cptsd within a species; the stories the bible is based on (canonical is a amalgamation of books, find the story sources some are from India for example); Poured mix blocks like liquid granite (not transported we still sell it in the store today, also look up the frequencies melting stone by using a matching frequency or Nikola Tesla damaging the building); bricks storing energy; psychology; ancient carvings; all cultures origin stories; ancient Chinese medicine, north american medicine, ancient Indian health system (Ayurveda); about migration paths and take a look at the people still living along those lines; translate the word yes and no through every language you can (im so sorry when you understand what happened); look up human zoos, where the circus came from; the other humanoids that we killed off (every other species has many variants and we dont but did its documented its control of perspective you are not top of the food chain you just believe you are); wind passes through your atoms nothing ever really touches; bio-electric fields; how a camera works; sound levitation; the matching frequency of an object will cause it to destabilise; oxygen levels of the past and how it affected other species and plants; the effects of co2 on plants; the ice ages of history and the global temperature record going as far back as possible; how light travels and how your senses perceive things; crystal skulls in truth are skulls left in caves to gain crystal deposits over time (why? well look up what crystals do and how they store and transfer information); seeing beyond can be trained without extreme mediation but do please look up proper protection and meditation before hand and your energy (the electrical magnetism of your body) will become unsteady and easily manipulated when in an open state; human battery (rib cage coil); the original cultures; how trade routes started;
    FYI: NASA has created a teleporter based on what you are talking about. This is the literal science behind how we can "possibly" (it was done) move an object through space and time without actually moving it.
    Lastly I have no way to prove this and I could probably leave this somewhere more useful but to whom it may help advance our civilisation, species, or reality : DNA is Plasma that has attracted and attached Dust to it. A plasma storm from space hitting a planetoid body such as the moon before reaching the earths ocean. Russia has an experiment that shows what dust does on plasma.

    As a black woman who grew up in WASHINGTON DC. This is very true. Everyone thinks it’s the nation’s capital (which it is to tourist and the streets) but born and raised - it’s a witches coven. There’s a lot of black people there which is why it used to be called chocolate city. My grandma and a lot of women who have been there for decades literally go to weekend festivals in parks and meet up for hoodoo and voodoo that are hosted on the streets by Howard and other historical places. It’s fun. I’d you know someone you’re welcome if not - you’re gentrification. They write enemies names on the bottom of the shoe (walking on them and their name), they do egg cleansing. A lot of hoodoo because that’s where their ancestors from Baltimore and Virginia ended up.

    In Chris Trwoga's book: Shamanic Landscapes, he writes that the role of the shaman was marginalised by the emergent druidic priesthood. I would imagine this was not an isolated occurance but worldwide. What the shamans knew was adopted by the priesthood but diluted due to their lack of really understanding the connection between matter and spirit. It was more about power and maintaining social hierarchy. Fantastic video, by the way. Loved it.

    A few years ago I suddenly started to feel the presence of a different entity within me...
    There was a strong desire for what I can only describe as indeed a shaman.
    Not only did it want to make its presence felt but also its voice HEARD.
    I have been meditating for years now and I have really learned the importance of appreciation and positive thinking.
    In my quest to free myself from the outcome of a trauma, when the shaman entity appears through me..
    I start to resonate with my true feelings again (of which I am trying to return to after having felt disconnected from by physical body).
    When I sing with the shaman voice, it does something to my body that it seems to somehow recognize and it starts to heal.
    When you started speaking about the shamans, I got instant goosebumps.
    I have also felt some kind of knowing for years now, of being able to fly, teleport, walk on water and transform myself.
    I don't see the world as obstacles but as opportunities for expression and simply fun.
    Playing with the idea of reality, as I might be an idea myself.
    I think I am capable of all those things but that I have not allowed myself to live that knowledge.
    I have heard of an idea that suggests that an energy source (which we might all come from)
    could have created everything from its own imagination ? Fascinating thought.
    Anyway..
    Here is another thing I have contemplated but something wants me to tell it as truth/fact:
    I think that IF Jesus was real and the ideas about him and his abilities are true
    He was just misunderstood. Because what he meant was that you are all like me.
    In other words: We all have the possibility to do everything, no boundaries.
    However if you convince yourself that can't be true
    You deny yourself access of what you innately are
    A creator of your own experience of reality

      Give me actual evidence that it actually took them hundreds of years or gtfo. Your assumptions mean nothing. If there was an easy explanation like that, then this wouldn't have remained a mystery for the entire history of archaeological science.

    • @SpoonChase
      @SpoonChase 10 месяцев назад +6

      @@Formscapes Assumptions? Please forgive my unintellectual and sheeple-ish take, but I think you lost the right to critique others for making assumptions. Assumptions practically compose the entirety of the belief system you outline in this video. Even if I were to accept some of the ideas about consciousness and memory being a fundamental aspect of our reality, to go from that to, "they turned rocks into liquid with their minds!" is absurd. Basically every "perhaps" or instance of speculation in this video is followed by an assumption of accuracy. You need to learn how to say "I don't know" for once, or at least exhibit a minute level of humility instead of throwing a temper tantrum the second anyone challenges your extremely hard to believe claims or your methods. I think you and I can agree that academia can be and often is authoritarian, but at least they have systems in place for judging accuracy before thrusting their ideas upon the world with confidence. As far as I can tell, your method is just "yep, that sounds right to me!", and then when someone else doesn't think it sounds right, they just aren't an intellectual free thinker like you are. In fact, the unexplainable experience you gave as an example perfectly demonstrates your mindset: you could not and cannot fathom your own mind being susceptible to error, thus it went unexplained within you for so long.
      I debated even posting this comment because it's very likely, based on how you respond to other comments such as this, that it will fall on deaf ears and probably accomplish nothing, and I tend to believe hostility accomplishes very little in general. But upon seeing your other comments, how little regard you have for opposing ideas, the complete lack of willingness to look within yourself for fault, and the swiftness you have in finding fault in others, I know there is no way I could have constructed my comment, respectful or otherwise, that could have influenced your mindset. Thus, the goal of this comment is to reveal to others, hopefully, the complete and utter hypocrisy and absurdity present within your beliefs and others like it.

My favourite science lie was when a surgeon banged my patella to test my spinal health. I had no reflex arc. He said "you're in trouble then". That was wrong. Thank you so much for publishing this extremely important work! I had my first experience with an encounter very similar to the one you describe, and it had a profound impact on my live in such a way that completely altered the way I view the world and the way that I engage with my community. I am half native Hawaiian or I guess I can now say after this experience, I half indigenous and half European Polynesian and Spanish ancestry. The magnitude of what I had experienced that day was so profound that It led me to completely completely walk away from a way of life that what I understood at the time was completely imbalanced, inharmonious, and and unaligned with my new found connection to the natural world around me, to the effect that I was actually able to receive a vivid picture of future circumstances and challenges that were not available to me prior to this experience. I had a deep sense that through this experience, I was able to create some sort of doorway or portal, into another reality, and in such a way enabling me to gain deeper understanding of myself, in addition to those around me, from uniquely authentic prospective, none of which at the time was socially acceptable by societies standards, but by my own. This led me to adopting a whole new lifestyle based on a completely different set of values which essentially altered my entire way of life, abandoning everything I was previously taught by institutions, as well as members of my own family regarding the history of my culture . And was forcibly admitted to multiple mental health facilities, including ones, organized by the state, due to their limiting beliefs and misunderstanding of certain behaviors, that, according to their judgment decided I was posing some kind of harm to myself, kind of potential to cause harm to others, which was completely irrational, construct derived from their own fear from not knowing themselves. This content has provided me a incredible insight and a deep sense of relief, I have not yet found on

    Awesome video! It's sad how close-minded the scientific establishment is. FYI, I am a neuroscientist who specializes in memory. I just wanted to say that as far as memory goes, you made some claims which are somewhat inaccurate. For example, while it's true that consolidated memories are not stored in any one location but are rather stored in a decentralized manner, the encoding of new memories is handled by a specific brain region known as the hippocampus, and surgical removal of this structure leads to anterograde amnesia, as demonstrated in the famous patient Henry Molaison. However, I do not disregard the potential role of morphic resonance for memory, and would hold up the evidence of transplanted memories as not fitting into the traditional mold of memory theory.

    • @Formscapes
      @Formscapes  9 месяцев назад

      What that evidence shows is that specific brain regions are involved in the **retrieval** or recreation of memories. We should not take this as indicating an analogy with computer memory in which memories themselves are encoded in physical states. The brain is an organ, not a computer, though this does not preclude the fact that distinct neurophysiological regions are responsible for performing specialized roles.

    Por exemplo, para Whitehead átomos não são meras “bolas de bilhar” microscópicas, se chocando e amontoando entre si em acordo com leis invariantes. Ao invés disso ele via átomos como os mais básicos organismos, como pequenos “pontos” autoreferenciais de consciência eletromagnética, que são direcionados tanto para a auto-perpetuação quanto para a simbiose, por um impulso interno para e através da realização criativa que anima o cosmos como um todo.
