Thanks you saved me. I thought the taranis stopped beeping after binding. That's how it works with my 4in1 module. Or at least the green light stops blinking or a servo moved. Didn't thought about ending the binding procedure in the tx.
If you are stuck with a solid red and green led after binding it means the tx or rx needs a firmware update. I spent an hour or so troubleshooting earlier. Updating the firmware on my taranis x9 lite got it to bind properly.

Hello, I’m using rx8r for my naza v2 flight controller as s-bus but now I need a survo function as the s-bus should be working like that only . So in which port I need to connect this survo to work ? Please help me out
Thank you for the videos. My X8R is currently running in SBus mode. Just for my testing I would like to add a servo to my drone to test payload release mechanism. How can I add the servo to the receiver and trigger it from my remote? Can I simply plug the servo into one of eight PWM channel?
Helo! I am having a problem and you may be able to help. My X8R was working properly but I was setting the electronics on a new plane and when I connected the battery to the receiver the LEDs on the receiver stayed on, both Red and Green and does not bind with the Taranis anymore. now if I can unplug the RX and plug again the LEDs keep on permanently. is there a way to bet it back working properly? tks
I wish there was a way to split, and get 8 channels on PWM & the other 8 on SBUS. That would make it easier to connect to a controller for conventional things, but also have plenty of discrete channels for pan/tilt and other special functions.

i have an X8R as well, just 2 weeks old. it used to bind properly but recently, it lost binding with transmitter. the LED blinks red and yellow almost at the same time. anyone knows what's wrong with my receiver? nothing else is connected to it just a 2s power lipo and the bound transmitter. is my x8r broken?
I have tried this process. I put xmitter in bind, hold button on X8R and apply power. I get solid green and solid red. No blinking. Not pairing. Why not?
Year is 2023, somehow I'm working for a hobby store, customer came in with an X9D+ and an X8R wanting them to be binded, confused AF and have no idea with these (now) old shcool gears, and PBF is still here for help. Welp let's hope one day FPV stuff will be easy enough that PBF's soul can truly rest in peace.
I did everything you did to change the firmware on my X8R. However, when I go to the FIRMWARE on the SD card, and select the firmware, the only option I get is DELETE. What can I do to fix that?

I've done this bind process, got the green light, and the receiver knows when I power down the Taranis so I think it bound correctly. As far as plugging the reciever in to the FC, I have an eachine wizard 220 so plugging the receiver to the FC is as simple as taking the one cord and picking a spot on the receiver. On a side note, The drone talks to Cleanflight just fine. (It seems like) the receiver talks to the radio just fine. I just cant get the Taranis and the drone to talk! I have tried plugging the FC into each of the 8 channels slots on the X8R and selecting ppm in cleanflight with no luck. I have tried plugging into the SBUS spot and adjusting the settings in cleanflight for sbus, also with not luck. I dont know where I'm messing up. All the videos on RUclips basically just say "plug it in, make sure your sticks are set up right in Clean/Betaflight and then go fly" so I'm not finding any help for when you simply "plug it in" and then nothing happens. I'm at the point where I either think I have a lemon or that this is all just a dream and I'm part of the Matrix. Any thoughts?
If you're using the 8 signal pins from the X8R and plugging it into the 8 input pins on the FC, then its not going to work if you choose PPM. You actually have to pick PWM. But I would recommend use using SBUS. Place the SBUS wire on a receive on a UART port. Here is my X8R playlist. I show how to connect the X8R to many different flight controllers. Newbie Taranis X9D owner here, ...I don't have a FC available to power up the X8R, and I wanted to test my self in configuring a servo to one of the receiver channels. Question, what volage range can I use as the supply voltage? Also, you mentioned I can apply this supply voltage to any channel, what about applying it to the SBUS port? Thanks !!
get your self a 5v supply attatch it to +and- of reciever it can be from esc which supply 5v and signal and then connect your servos make sure you have set end points to 1000 to 2000 otherwise it will break

you may have the same issue i was having. im on the omnibus f4 v3 as well. does not come with a servo cable. i depinned my x8r and soldered directly to it,
but, I do have a question for anybody: has anyone tried to get the firmware file from FRsky lately? There is one but no EU or NonEU differentiation -just one. -I don't see any legacy files either.

I got this Rx when I bought my taranis. I do not like it. It is fat and the antennas can break easily.
