If you’re paying close attention, you will notice a pattern that seems to govern natural phenomena and beautiful works of art.
For centuries, ancient thinkers have called it the Golden Ratio or the Divine Proportion.
But why is this irrational sequence of numbers so prevalent in our universe? And can this ‘cosmic constant’ predict our behavior?
In this episode, adapted from the award-winning Arabic series Dahaleez, Egyptian-born actor Amr Waked journeys from the galactic to the atomic to try to answer one of the oldest, and most persistent, philosophical questions.

I am really glad I stumbled on that. Funny, I saw Amr Waked in many movies. Little did I know that he can be serious.. Lol...I am glad he presents this series on Al-Jazeera. This is amazing, we get to know more without bias and prejudice. Hopefully it will stay that way. Al-Jazeera is doing great things..Kudos to him as I believe his motivation behind the series must be deep, noble and divine.
Not a single mathematician or physicist was consulted for this video promotion of vague personal beliefs. Mathematics can be used to understand the universe so please consult proper scholars for it, even if those scholars happen to be atheist, which they often will be.

I'm a designer and an Advertising expert and a Musician an whenever I use the Golden Ratio on my work I tend to get amazing results and People like it 99,99% of the time , it is something powerful and media and goverments use it nowdays to manipulate people as well it's a proportion that everybody can use to affect their surroundings and theirselves as well !

I remember in the last 2 Seasons of The CW's The 100 The Golden Ratio was referenced a few times through a temperoal anomoly.
That's a great show for the themes it covers, and how they implement them organically and with purpose, not gratuitously like so many shows today.

Mr Amr Waked, I praise you for your wisdom in bringing the essence of wisdom to investigative journalism. This is seldom seen in an era where media now wishes to inundate us with 'knowledge' of so much corruption and suffering I can't even remember it all.
that said, your investigative documentary was very refreshing and inspiring.
I also do research in the areas in which you touched on in this remarkable piece, namely - philosophy, theology and psychology.

now regarding your attempt to connect the 'golden ratio' to 'human behavior' you may have to open up the lens in which you are viewing the topic with some more in order to find a more wholesome perspective
point being, your fixation on the golden ratio and human behavior appear too stringent. Rather, if you were to regard 'human consciousness' as opposed to just 'human behavior' you may arrive at where you initially intended to go since human consciousness constitutes human behavior.
also, human consciousness provides more connect-ability for mathematical relations more so than just 'human behavior'
most importantly, the golden ratio is only a fraction of the representation of universal law and unity found in the universe.
For more in-depth discovery you should regard mathematics as a whole and how many aspects of not just being human but being itself ( a product of existence itself ) also constitute various 'mathematical' relations. this inevitably connects to human consciousness because human consciousness is undeniably a product of existence itself - something we can refer to as the 'original equation' - the mathematical laws and principles within existence itself and thus human consciousness/behavior.

Great video! I will have to point out that your editor used B-roll of the wrong Bob (Robert) 8:29. Robert Proctor and Robert Prechter are two different people. The correct use is Bob Prechter who is a renowned stock market analyst in my field. Bob Proctor, however, is a motivational speaker, rest his soul. Otherwise awesome video.

Golden ratio is explicitly pointed out in Quran too .
The Golden Ratio or divine ratio is an infinite, non-repeating decimal that cannot be expressed as a fraction . It is irrational and is equal to about 1.618
Now see what Quran 16:18 says :
"If you tried to count Allah's blessings, you would never be able to number them. Allah is ever forgiving and most merciful."
Did you notice something, Golden ratio which is an "infinite" irrational number that is approximately equal to 1.618
And the exact 16 :18 verse of Quran talks about the "infinite" nature of Allah's blessings.
Is it a coincidence, or some kind of hint that Allah (swt) has given us about golden ratio.

The discovery of the golden ratio was actualy the discovery of the presence of a higher energie, god, presence or whatever there is that is involved in creation of anything, maybe everything or maybe just something. There is nothing sacred about it, this is just a marketing term, it was used by all ancient cultures especially in Hinduism\Jainism which was much earlier.

I study Mathematic. Mathematic is the oldest language, a language of science. Mathematicians called themselves discoverers, not inventors. Like the law that Newton discovered, emc square that Einstein discovered, for example. Even human deem themselves the only rational animals on earth, but human is animal after all, why are we different from other animals when it comes to the divine law of nature? We have never been able to control Nature even we have been on earth for thousands of years.
