Mental illness from a biological perspective is complicated on its own, we have no perfected means of modifying the brain so we experiment with drugs and behavioral solutions on the hope that a positive affect can be achieved for some. Eminem's ambiguous wordplay, making you believe it's a regular song about going on stage, only to switch it up and make you realise this is about the Vegas shooting midway and then have you in shock is incredible. He has you going back to listen to the lyrics again to understand the double meaning. It's a masterpiece.
He understands some people's mind state, when they are battling in their heads. He too struggled/struggles, although he fashions victory over depression.
All of those places where the shootings happened were "gun free zones" yet the shooting still happened. (Which means the person who intends on breaking the law-- murdering people -- still does) But the people who want to obey the law (Not murder people, and NOT bring a gun to a gun free zone can't shoot back when there inevitably is a shooter.) Look at this most recent shooting in the Tx church. How many people would the shooter have killed if there wasn't the law abiding gun owner to stop him? 30? 40? 50?... People intent on MURDERING mass amounts of innocent people DO NOT care about the latest gun restrictions. Do you know why? Reason 1) They clearly don't care about the law. Reason 2) Such laws don't make those newly-banned guns disappear. Is meth illegal? Yeah, how's that working out? Last I checked murder was illegal too. Eminem is clearly incapable of rational thought. I like Em, but he really needs to do his research and use his brain. If the liberals get what they want with gun laws, the problem WILL get worse and the death counts for shootings WILL rise... Because there is no one to defend themselves. The Police you say? Would you really rely on a government agency whose entire purpose is to respond to calls while the act is happening or even after the fact? really? The average police response time is 8.33 MINUTES let that number sink in. We're talking about active shooters here. This is all--common--sense.

The shooter spent much of the last year of his life at night. He disliked daylight and slept during the day. I thought that's what the chorus was referencing!?
Eminem is such a legend for shining light on these shootings. Remembered this song randomly in the middle of class; Just had to come back to this and listen to it again.
This song is the definition of how art can be profoundly moving. The lives lost in tragic shootings are being honored in this song. Eminem has the talent and courage to rap about this very sensitive topic which should be greatly respected. Well done.
I feel you that it’s a tragedy and we should honor those lost... but he used this as banning 2A rhetoric he’s gotten old enough to turn himself into what he despised to make him famous
What should we do to help him make more money? Have the writing team start working on a song about mass shooters for him and have him list medicines he's never done that before.
I mean, it kind of is " feels like I'm loathing in las vegas, haven't got the vaguest why I'm so lost but I'd make you this small wager.." I feel you tho, it's more than just a song it's a PSA
Everyone anticipated the nick cannon diss, but em showed how to truly be the bigger person and focus on real shit. Man this came out of left field and had me froze.
If we're being fair, it wasn't to be a bigger man. Nick just isn't worth Em's time. If there was a scale of 1 to 10 of how legendary they are, Em is a 10 and Nick is a 2.
I've always loved how he's able to tell such a brutally honest story in songs like this I believe that's what everyone has missed from him lately He delivers multiple meanings and depicts it all uniquely to where you can picture it from a wide perspective His verses are like short movie clips being painted inside of your brain with his pen being his paint brush I for one hope he keeps "painting" until the very end
When has he ever not done that? You might have not liked the story but he has always done that. It's his trademark that guys like hopsin and nf have been using as influence.
“If you’d like to know the reason why I did this, you’ll never find a motive. I have no idea, I’m just as stumped.” That line probably hit the hardest for me, that and “No suicide note just a note for target distance.” This whole song is a double entendre, a take on mental illness, and is definitely making an impact. When will the violence stop?
99+% of people with mental illness dont commit violence, it's a ploy by politicians to blame the mentally ill. Eminem even raps here to be clear, "no signs of mental illness".

Yep, this song is so powerful and important, the critics look at it at surface level, but it's actually so important and so kind for Em to put this out there
That was one hell of a message then. Seriously, after I saw the guy unzipping the bag on the bathroom, my heart practically dropped into my stomach. This song as a whole is easily the most powerful double entendre I've ever heard in all my years of listening to music.
L L They won’t need to find another way to kill people. There’s already over 300 million guns in the US. It won’t be hard to find them legal or not. That’s why the states with the most strict gun control have the highest gun violence. The only thing it’ll really effect is law abiding citizens who use guns for protection. But the left will always counter argue with “they won’t need protection because guns will be against the law so criminals won’t be able to use theirs anymore”.
@L L The message is that we need to be having serious discussions about how broken our system is and how we can can fix loopholes that have led to so many of these preventable mass shootings. It’s not going to be easy (and realistically, we can’t stop them all), but mitigating the effects is definitely doable.

Em wants the most amount of people at his show to perform. the shooter most amount of people to kill. "cant murder a show nobodies at" has very different meanings for both of them. Go through the lyrics tho its crazy every bar is from both perspectives/experiences to varying degrees. When I first realized I couldn't believe how genius his writing is haha.
Eminem is the greatest lyrical artist to ever exist. Songs like this solidify that fact. Not many people can compose a story like this into music in a way that gives you chills.
You should check out the band la dispute, specifically the songs "king park" "edward benz, 27 times" and "i see everything". Its much different than this so go with an open mind, pull up lyrics to read along, and if you want listen to the conversations that are on youtube of each song where the vocalist explains the story behind each song which helps understand them more. Each of those songs is a true story. La dispute to me have the greatest lyrics of all time but thats just my preference. This id top tier lyrics too.
Also immortal techniques song "dance with the devil", thats hip hop so a lot closer to this than la dispute, any immortal technique song it lyrically unbelievable but that one has a dark story like this song, his other songs are still great and I would highly recommend
Which does not make sense because this is right up Googles alley. RUclips supports the agenda of taking away peoples rights when it comes to the first amendment, so why would they feel different about the fourth?
Every verse has 2 meanings that tell 2 different stories. Double entendres. Tells a story about his anxiety before he goes on stage vs Vegas Shooter. Ambiguous lyrics, just pure genius
In the first listen you think about it from an artist's perspective and how he tries to "kill" the show. In the second listen you see the double entandre and realise how the shooter literally kills people in the crowd... like damn, that's hard
My mother in law was at this event, she called my wife when the shooting started, it was such a traumatic event for my wife and I to hear, this song makes me cry like a baby, it is such a masterpiece, this man deserves so much more for his creative talents
This song is just art work of a genius. The mental state of an artist who's about to perform on stage is same as someone who's about to shoot people in concert. The portrayal of nervous feelings shared between the 2 characters, and how both are reacting to same emotions differently because of different situations in life. simply he says "I don't wanna be alone in the darkness". 1 sentence holding a lot of meaning. i.e. the person who is doing it himself is in a dark place and maybe he doesn't want to be the only one, "alone in the darkness". This song is a masterpiece.
thony kafuako saying he finna “kill the show” like in terms of rapping while at the same time talking about the Vegas shooter killing the crowd and more

The writting talent of Eminem is out of this world.

This song as a whole is easily the most powerful double entendre I've ever heard in all my years of listening to music.
L L That mass shooters won’t be able to kill people as long as guns are against the law
L L You got to stop liking your own comment lmao. That’s kind of embarrassing..
@L L The message is that we need to be having serious discussions about how broken our system is and how we can can fix loopholes that have led to so many of these preventable mass shootings. It’s not going to be easy (and realistically, we can’t stop them all), but mitigating the effects is definitely doable.

It hasn't hit 100M yet because RUclips won't f*cking recommend this!
me and the boys having an party not being deppresive just listening to this
@@markoatla5294 exactly no hate to em
Which does not make sense because this is right up Googles alley. RUclips supports the agenda of taking away peoples rights when it comes to the first amendment, so why would they feel different about the fourth?
damn it..
Exactly, RUclips keeps recommending me Life is Good after every song I listen. That's the reason why it have 100 Million views
That outro gives me goosebumps.
Every verse has 2 meanings that tell 2 different stories. Double entendres. Tells a story about his anxiety before he goes on stage vs Vegas Shooter. Ambiguous lyrics, just pure genius
“you can’t murder a show nobody’s at”
100 percent brutality
"You cant murder a show nobody's at" this line hits harder the second play through
Man this line made listen
I thought the same thing. Hardest line in the whole song.
Explain what that means
400th like
In the first listen you think about it from an artist's perspective and how he tries to "kill" the show.
She ok? Sending hugs to u and ur fam
Prove it
@@MrJamiez the fuck?
@@MrJamiez That's just wrong man
@@kieranmcginley1262 prove it
This song is just art work of a genius.
The mental state of an artist
who's about to perform on stage
is same as someone who's about to shoot people in concert.
The portrayal of nervous feelings shared between the 2 characters,
and how both are reacting to same emotions differently because of different situations in life.
simply he says "I don't wanna be alone in the darkness".
1 sentence holding a lot of meaning.
i.e. the person who is doing it himself is in a dark place
and maybe he doesn't want to be the only one,
"alone in the darkness".
This song is a masterpiece.
This is Rap guys. No BS just straight Rap with a deep meaning ...
yeah i'm a fan of mgk. should now say i was. eminems fucking amazing
@@lazy3954 im a em fan but hotel Diablo was preaty good tbh
Straight facts Em is OG and has been since day 1
True!!!
Well Someone needed to get the Message out
This mans a genius bro.
He literally just told 2 stories in one with the same lines.
L ikr. I didn't even feel the change in the story. He's a genius bro.
🤯
Explain bro. 🙏🏽
thony kafuako saying he finna “kill the show” like in terms of rapping while at the same time talking about the Vegas shooter killing the crowd and more
The bar for genius has clearly dropped.
I can't believe how sensitive the world became
this is masterpiece
At least someone remembers the victims and the discussion on mental health/types of weapons screening should be had. There's a reactor named Luce that stated he has a permit but hasn't gotten a gun due to being bipolar. He states he shouldn't be able to get it. Interesting.
@@aligaines8476 I have certified bipolar disorder. Clinically diagnosed but also medicated. I'm law enforcement and probably the most stabilized fucker at my job.
Having a mental illness means fuck all about being a responsible adult and not a piece of shit who thinks the world owes them.
So brave to make this one... the emotion you feel from the point of view of the man that did this but eminem is using his brain fully for this
