I’m a professional nanny and have nannied for two social media influencers. The one mom has over a million followers. The first day I went to their house, I was chatting with her 3 & 4 year old girls. Just chatting and getting to know them. After ten minutes the little 4 year old said to me “I wish you were our mom” So sad. I do not nanny for influencers any more and am completely off Instagram. I can’t take it. It’s so fake.

Yep. I hate going anywhere. People get on my nerves. I remember going to a restaurant about 10 years ago with my family. A family of 4 was beside us and all 4 were looking at their cell phones and not talking. I thought they might as well have stayed home. Unfortunately social media has gotten much worse.

People say I'm old when I brag about being a proud 90s teen. Yes of course I'm middle-aged, but that makes me happy. Because I grew up in a better time. No cell phones, more privacy, more genuine people in public, better music, no social media clouding our personalities, more heroes - less narcissistic personality disorders, more respect, it just seems like more was going on then. When I got my first cell phone in 2002 it had no camera and no net. Just a phone that had text messaging. Then when I first got a phone with net and camera I thought " how did I ever live without this?" But when I ask myself that question it disgusts me. Because society seemed happier and more United without these distractions. Now we are dependant on our tech and it also brings the worst out in us. People walk around public like they are Gods gift to mankind. And it makes me sick. I feel that as long as you aren't hurting anybody, live your life. But we all hurt each other everyday. Sometimes without even knowing it.

I laughed at the phone comment, I remember when the iPhone was released in 2007. I couldn't understand why people were camping out in line to get one. It's just a phone!? I had a 'dumb' phone for years after that, when it finally died I upgraded, and I didn't have to camp out or stand in line.
While I feel the same way having grown up in the 80's and 90's, I also think that every generation in the history of humanity has felt this way about the past.

Certainly since 2000 things have gone down hill but you could probably trace it all the way back to the early 1970's when the decay really started to creep in. But the 80's and 90's were still "less bad" than everything that's come after it.

Anyway I can say it started with a health problem, I was worried at the time and not in the mood for posting. Eventually thank God it was a minor one but in the meanwhile the process of detoxing / losing followers / having an anxiety to come back had began so I just told to myself it's OK to let go and make this change. The only thing I miss is when I actually go somewhere and take good pics of myself or the place is genuinely sharing with someone. That's all. Thank you for reading this

for real.. family friends visited us from overseas. We haven't met them for 6 years so I was excited to catch up with them and the kids (similar age as me). But the kids were so obsessed with taking photos wherever we took them.. they were not interested in seeing and/or experiencing.. Sometimes the sisters stayed in a single spot for 10 - 20 minutes to get those perfect pics. And our parents were just hanging 😬 They would dress up every single day, take f**king 2 hours to get ready, even on the days we went bushwalking or to the beach. We were pretty close when we were young and used to have so much fun. But the things have changed 💀 I barely talked to them during their visits.. Later I saw their profile pictures and cringed..

You know the best thing to do when you see an influencer doing this shit? Record it and then walk upto them, ask them if they're on instagram and you want to follow them. They'll happily give out their handle. Wait for them to post this, and then you can comment with the video under their post.

Lego exhibitions, basketball cards and nba, sony walkmans, Nintendo game boy, sega master system and mega drives, vhs cassettes and tape decks in cars. Clothing was different too from all the baggy clothes and the undercut /slick back styles for the guys. Steven seagal, van damne, stallone jackie Chan, Bruce Willis, Wesley Snipes, Eddie Murphy... Etc were in their prime. Having a computer then was a big deal, didn't get one till 1999 and MSN messenger and chat rooms were all the rage as well as yahoo and AOL search engines. Cars were awesome too... Imagine as a kid seeing a 300zxs, Toyota soarers, big v8 Holden & Ford sedans. Still remember when pop bought a Mazda mx6 turbo back in 1990, an absolute rocket for its day The only way people could annoy you was on the home phone if you were lucky enough to be home as it seemed like we were out more..... Here, what I meant to say that if we made an effort to get photographed especially at some vacation or exotic locations, it's okay to have a tripod of your own so that you don't bother others around you even for a moment. Also, you don't know anything about me and vice versa, so you have no right to misunderstand or call people out by any name. Learn to be kind enough to let someone know that humanity still exists and being less judgemental also helps.

But the kids were so obsessed with taking photos wherever we took them.. they were not interested in seeing and/or experiencing.. Sometimes the sisters stayed in a single spot for 10 - 20 minutes to get those perfect pics. And our parents were just hanging 😬
They would dress up every single day, take f**king 2 hours to get ready, even on the days we went bushwalking or to the beach.
We were pretty close when we were young and used to have so much fun.
But the things have changed 💀 I barely talked to them during their visits..
