Eventually, the weather has been good enough over a number of days, to have dried out any standing water from winter storms. Todays target was to attempt a section of the nearby "Portugal Atlantic-Coast-Bicycle-Trail" --running close to us here along the Algarve coastline,. The target was to head eastward to the nearby major town of "Tavira" -- about 18km from home -- and then simply return. Expected challenges for a long, serious 'first-time-out' ride - such as fatigue and a section of trail with a 10% incline!! - proved to be not a problem at all.
