Hi Ally, I have great respect for beaders, watching this video made me realize I know nothing about bead's, but I'm ready to learn, I hope you will do more lessons. 👍💝💝
I use these beads for embroidery work because they sit better on the fabric, I use all of the sizes, 15/0’s, 11/0’s, 10/0’s, 8/0’s and 6/0’s there is only a slight difference between the 10/0’s and 11/0’s but when doing bead embroidery it makes a huge difference.
You're so very welcome, glad it was helpful! Here is a cute Delica beads project you may enjoy! www.potomacbeads.com/how-to/projects-tutorials/earring-projects/cubic-mark-earrings-tutorial.html
Lotsa great info in this BB episode. I've been stitching a ton of pen wraps using peyote stitch with 11/0 delicas. Love the way these beads almost "snap" together. Thanks, Allie, for sharing with us and expanding our beading knowledge.
Hi Ally would a 2mm delica be a size 11 or a size 8 The pattern calls for a 2m Delica and I am not sure which one it would be? Thank you for your reply. Patricia
Hello, potaomac I am from Egypt happy to watch your videos, really you explain in detail and a nice way Please I am beginning to to Lear how to make accessra to make it as business, so please arrange your videos from how to buy every thing to how to begin Thank you for your great effort God bless you and have a great day
I've been using Delicas for over 20 years and I never knew there was any size other than the 11/0 until some 15/0 Delicas came in one of the Bead Boxes. Mind blown that there are 2 other sizes (8/0 & 10/0) I never knew about. Out of curiosity, is there much of a size difference between the 10/0 and 11/0?
Thank you, Allie. I paid strict attention this time too. In my area, we have only one real bead shop. I love the beads but they only carry TOHO brand seed beads. Until recently I've been able to use their Treasure beads (size 1) in place of 11/0 Delicas. (We have a craft store that sells beads but no seed beads. Its sister store, 20 miles away, sells Delicas but only in 4-5 colors.) I guess this is the long way of asking: Are there different sizes of TOHO Treasures I should be more carefully looking at or for?
You can make a band-style bracelet (peyote stitch, square stitch, loom, whatever) as a base, then decorate/embellish it with other elements sewn on top. And sure to kumihimo, why not? Should fit on S-lon just fine.
Why are some seed beads sized differently from different companies. Are not all size 11 round beads created equal? I noticed this when I purchase some seed beads from Michaels as lets say from Toho. Better company, better quality? Thanks
Both Toho and Myuki are considered to be good quality, consistently sized sead beads. That said, the more expensive Toho cylinder bead, the aiko(? Spelling?) is acknowledged to be the most precise.
Miyuki is going to be your most uniform round. The thought behind the sizing was that the number in the size was how many you could fit in an inch. Over time different companies have little variations within their beads. So no, not all 11/0s are the same but are pretty close

Thank you for this video. I wasn't aware that delica comes in 8° and 15°. Physical shop here carries only size 11.

Thank you, I dudn't know the there ate Delicas in 15/0.
Love your earrings! Is it one of your patterns on youtube?
I love your earring's. What pattern are they?
I have the same question. I searched for them under patterns, videos and kits, but couldn't find them.
Thank you. You are very informative.

Yes, there is quite a difference. A bracelet starting from 21 beads size 11/0 is ~ 2.8cmm wide, one made in 10/0 delicas is ~ 1 cm wider.
@@mihaelasearov659 Wow, that's quite a difference. Thank you.
We are always learning to and thanks for the answer Mihaela

@LINDA SALIN Hundreds of dollars not enough? Just wondering
I love delicas for peyote. I have some 8/0 delicas that are too big and I’m not sure what to do with them. Maybe for Kumihimo?

They would look great for Kumihimo
I need Delicas 11/0 for a cross stitch pattern. How do I order specific colors. For example 117 x 124 beads…etc 125x280 beads….
Our website will list the amount of beads in each tube, you can order however many needed!

Do you Cary 10/0s at all
We do not at this time but we are always looking to expand our seed bead inventory
