They had a great part in our history , the great possum borne , Colin McRae. When these side bangers1st came out and man that noise … not my type of cars but respect to the wrx and evo.
Been watching your review since i got a CL9, but now i have sold my CL9 and bought a GC8, though not STI but still put a big smile on my face whenever i drive it.
If you live in place where weather is wish washy between constant rain, hail, & snowy winters - AWD is your best choice. I Live in WA state USA & i’ll tell you first hand, the Mitsubishi Evo & Subaru WRX STI community is HUGE.
@@doghorsefish9320 Honestly man the US has all the best cars these days - TLX Type S, NSX Type S, Type R LTD, TL Type S and numerous others I'm sure. The rest of the world looks in envy whereas 20 years ago it was the other way round
Yes sir exactly, well put. As a jdm classic enthusiast i wish we’d gotten a lot of the variations that other parts of the world got back in the day, but nowadays, the U.S does have some pretty rad stuff on the market. Out of the few you mentioned there, all are really awesome cars in my opinion. I was actually looking for a TL Type-S in Manual back when i was in the market for my TSX.. super rare to find a 3g Type-S, and super expensive.
@@doghorsefish9320 yeah aye, if they were available here I'd totally buy one to replace my accord. But there's just nothing in hondas new range that really excites me... if they made a Jazz type r I'd buy one tho... or a new civic 1.5T manual
Man my Na GF8 is awesome, to me it’s the fastest car on the road, I can’t wait to get a 6 speed gearbox and just chuck in my turbo engine. the car makes me smile from ear to ear from the moment it start it to when I turn the beast off.
That's not a very good review, actually. I love WRX but gawd damn for the average person trying to look for an actual review, this video doesn't do well. It's all just hype and no logistics. I need statistics on the car, common critical problems, your best opinion on what it's good for to appease your audiences such as the average commuter, the rally scene, and aftermarket scene. How hard is it to find parts today? What could they have done better at the time it was designed? Idk just get more indepth with it, don't just show us how great the handling is, or how much the sound vibrates your little private area in your seat when you redline the engine or hyping me up to submit to the fetish. I get it. I love the WRX too, but the video doesn't do much justice for 53 year old father that has only ever swapped vehicles whenever the clear coat is chipping off, which is 8 times(all commuter vehicles, never anything sporty) trying to find a car for his 18 year old, college student kid that decided to go with a part-time job that's 2 hours away from his apartment. I'm just being realistic here. When I search up for a review on youtube, im not looking for a gawd damn glorifying hype-rally video, I want an actual review!
I was never really impressed with them when they came out, especially when my 1600 VTEC would keep up with them after a few mods (ECU reflash, exhaust, intake). Only thing that makes a Subaru worth anything realistically is the turbo forcing through the power, non-turbo Subarus are total shite IMO.
in this exact video he talks about how great and fun the all wheel drive system is... then you say the only good thing about them is the turbo 'forcing' the power? drive a 3.0r with nice suspension and a good exhaust and youll see how 'shite' non turbo subarus are(nt)
@@jamesoliver7531 ive driven two 3.0R's, one with bilstien suspension and they are decent but they feel front heavy and they understeer big time, this is the first Subaru I've driven that feels like it actually uses the awd system to improve handling. My accord easily kept up with a 3.0R on track... it wouldn't keep up with this
@@KiwiCarLife hey mate each to there own , not saying you can't like your honda more, I just think it's wrong to say the only good thing about subarus is turbos forcing the power, I dunno I've got a 3.0r with nice tires and suspension and anti roll bars and it's not very understeery although the handling isn't as good as my wrx was , I still think the awd system is great and fun and non turbo subies are definitely not all total shite

Good vehicles
GC8, my dream car. My first car was the hatchback Impreza L from 98 w/ the 1.8. Shitty car but hey, it was manual!
Haha we all gotta start somewhere
Absolutely. Went from that 98 Wagon, to an 01 honda civic em2, and now i have an 06 tsx/accord in metallic/glacier blue.
