    Does Powerdirector have the feature where you can select music from your library where it will auto fit the length of the video? Please explain how to do this. Much thanks - John

      John,
      There is a tool to do what you are looking for. The tutorial for that is in the link below.

      Hope this helps. --Jim

      @@SharperTurtle Thank you for replying. When you drag the audio do the length of the video, how is the audio changing - speed, looped ? Much thanks.

      John,
      It loops segments of the video according to an algorithm. You can make adjustments to how it works.

    HI Jim - is there a phone number users can call for technical support? I just see that email form. They should at least have one for purchasers of the 365 program. That would also be a good incentive when making that purchase to know you can call someone from the company to get instant help as well. Customer support is so important.

    My problem is finding a way to edit the alias of a .WAV file in PD365.... and retain it. When restarting the PD program, the alias's revert back to the original file names, in the "Audio only" list, but use the new alias in the timeframe....creating a problem if more audio editing is required.

    • @SharperTurtle
      @SharperTurtle 2 года назад

      I did not notice that behavior until you pointed it out. When you reload PD does revert to the original file name and not the alias. I don't know a way to change that behavior. If you right click on the audio in the timeline and choose "Edit Alias" it will display the source file name that is in the media room. It would be easier if you could choose between displaying the alias name or the source file name in the media room, but I don't think we have that flexibility at the current time. You could rename the source file or make a copy under another name, but that's not always workable. --Jim

      @@SharperTurtle this happened at the recent PD update. When recording in previous version, we had the chance to name the file, but now it only sequentially saves it.

      Oh, I didn't know that this changed. I just made an inquiry about it to find out if this is a deliberate change or a bug. If I hear back, I'll let you know. --Jim

      @@SharperTurtle ..and when trying to delete an unwanted file from disk by right clicking, the file on capture page disappears but the unwanted file remains on the disk, taking up space.

      Normally PowerDirector will delete content in the media room and not remove elements from your hard drive. It's designed so that you don't accidentally remove your source material when you want to remove elements from your project. If you track your settings you can monitor the places where you store your created files and delete them manually. That's what I find myself doing, --Jim

    Great tutorials - love it that you take the time to answer our questions. I bought Powerdirector.
    Question please - can you do a tutorial on how to fade in and fade out audio? If you have one, please give me the link. Thank you - John

    • @SharperTurtle
      @SharperTurtle Год назад +1

      John, I have a tutorial scheduled that will show you multiple ways to do that. The short answer is that you can hold the CTRL key on the volume line of the audio track and click with the left mouse button. That adds a keyframe. If you add one of these keyframes and then hold and drag the keyframe marker at the beginning or end of the audio track, you can fade the volume coming in or going out. The upcoming tutorial will also show you how to add an audio transition from the transition room. --Jim

      @@SharperTurtle HI Jim - thank you again. I am looking forward to your upcoming tutorial. Please let me know when it is here on RUclips. Holding the control is fine for one way. But there should be an easier way. I remember Movie Maker you just clicked and dragged on the sound wave to highlight the part you wanted to fade out and then click "fade out." I hope Powerdirector has a feature like that. If not, please offer it as a suggestion for an update. The audio transition sounds like a good method - can't wait to see it. Thank you - John

      John,
      The option on PowerDirector is not as elegant as with some NLE programs. To make a suggestion to Cyberlink, Click on the FILE menu at the top, then select 'Rate us & Provide Suggestions" from the drop down menu. I do not have any special access to developers at Cyberlink. --Jim

    That was really good. But you'll have to go over the conversion maths you used for the 27 frames when you converted it to digital. On a totally unrelated point, thanks for getting me into Titler Pro. Sometime last year they made me an unbelievable price offer to upgrade from version 1.5 to 7 that I could not turn down. People who use PowerDirector should find that they will be offered a discount on their purchase, should they want to go down that road. Sorry for the diversion, and no, I don't work for Titler Pro.

    • @SharperTurtle
      @SharperTurtle 4 года назад

      Sorry that my math may not have been totally accurate. Oops. I do like Titler Pro and have a copy of version 5 that has not been used much because I don't have time to dig into it as I would like. I'd love to see the folks from Titler Pro develop a deeper relationship with the PowerDirector program with a newer version. I believe everyone would benefit from that. --Jim
