Good run! I'm pretty sure the double shell jump had no lakitu. It was probably just bomb, and since it breaks the floor, the next 'reset', they fall on you. Probably some sort of mechanism to limit the number of retry you get on the shell jump.
I agree, I think the reset doors were designed in a way where each reset allowed more of the ceiling to break. The instant reset was probably not the best idea, though it’s hard to say without looking under the hood
The Skewer Level was one of the few very solid levels that you enjoy playing, it had a theme and stuck to it, it had no hidden blocks or other hot garbage shenanigans, wasn't too hard but also not too easy/short. Props to the level maker, that's the stuff you wanna see from people.

10:35 Why didn't you bring a buzzy beetle an throw it immediately as you leave the door? The spikey shelmet will be destroyed and you can use the beetle to break the blocks. If you miss a jump you will just stop the shelmet instead of getting damage

Well, it can also be fairly often used later in the level for cheese. So it's worth it until it seems too risky to continue with it.
