Hey mate, great videos! Do u know if there is meant to be a gasket for the egr motor on a px2 ranger? And would it matter if i goes back without one. I have pulled mine off following your vids but mine doesnt appear to have one? Cheers
Great channel these motors are tight.I've got a 013 BT50 and about 5 years ago I put an aftermarket intercooler and had a remap. Completely different vehicle, doubled the torque. Now I'm considering blanking the EGR. The tuner sold the business but do you think he already closed the EGR electronically on the map? Is that common on tunes? When you stand behind the car the exhaust fumes do sting the eyes a little....
why don't you clean the head? it must be quite dirty as well? you could have removed the diesel filter assembly to make it easier to take the pieces apart
The engine itself is great, plenty of power when tuned Properly, it's just literally everything bolted onto the engine is absolute dog poo and lands up grenading the engine prematurely
Great attention to detail and great video. Thanks

Can you just jam that egr valve shut that you had the screw driver in? Would that stop the soot going into the manifold?
Yes but will throw a code as it will see the egr valve as stuck
Very informative mate. My 2013 ranger is throwing p042f egr valve stuck closed. Wondering if doing this clean and trying to free it up would fix it
If your valve is stuck closed does that mean the soot isn't going into your manifold? What's the negative about it being stuck closed?
great video,very informative.
Thank you!

A lot of tuners turn the egr off but don’t openly state it. 🫣
Did you clean intake channels in the cylinder head? If so wow you did it?
Thanks
Yes I did. But they were surprising clean. Used a vacuum and a small brush.

Surprisingly the head ports were reasonably clean. Yes removing the filter assembly gives much more room. Cheers
How many mile or how many years we should clean?
This was done at 215,000 km
Great vid, how often would you recommend doing this I have a 2019 wildtrak with 63k on clock, cheers
What is the KM's on the odometer?
The torque spec for the Ranger glow plugs is 13nm
Thanks for the tip
I did my intake clean today and put everything back i should but something went wrong my car starts but cant run no power miss firing
Did you take the motor off of the egr valve?
The cam on the motor needs to align correctly with the notch inside the egr valve
Is the 2 ltr Bi Turbo, pretty much the same? Cheers great series of Vids
same process but different engine
how much intake manifold torque?
16nm in 3 stages: 5, 13 and 16
What a failure in engineering this engine is.
The engine itself is great, plenty of power when tuned Properly, it's just literally everything bolted onto the engine is absolute dog poo and lands up grenading the engine prematurely
Sell the Ranger and buy a Tacoma. Problems solved
