Joe is like the dad i never had, seriously a person i look up to, you've saved me from some of the deepest holes that ive fallen in, and changed my life for the better, i love you man. (Funny thing, a pastor actually told me about your band and he loves your music!)
I've listened to Harley Poe for so long, never gets old, only gets better. It's so refreshing because most music sounds the same to me now :/ Harley Poe stays unique
I discovered Harley Poe when I was pretty young when Lewis was an odd boy and Hershel goes to heaven were uploaded to some RUclips channel that usually did readings of horror storys. maybe a year or 2 ago I remembered about those songs and how they really struck me when I was younger, I'm now 18 and have listened to Harley Poe almost everyday since I re discovered y'all. everything I could find I've heard.... over and over again lol I love every song it's just all exactly what I needed to hear at exactly the right time. I also picked up a Guitar Because I wanted to sing these songs so much and now I'm playing bluegrass licks my fingers are calloused and I finally have something to be proud of so thank you Joe (and the band of course) for the great music you've made and thank you for doing these videos your engagement with your fans is something that's astonished me for ages lol I left a comment saying this on the first video but I was in the top 0.01% of listeners on Spotify and I'm more proud of that then all my progress on guitar ngl
I just checked and that was 6 years ago Lewis was an odd boy was uploaded to "chilling tales for dark knights" so I was 12 when I first heard your music
I enjoy seeing how different you are outside of music. In your music you write such demented and crazy music, however outside of music you're just so chill.
When i was a kid i loved the Scary Stories books and especially the hearse rhyme. As a dad i played your version of that song for my daughter it would always make her laugh :).
Would literally do anything, up to and including killing a human being (several if necessary), to be able to smoke weed, eat ice cream, and watch horror movies with this man tbh
Hey Joe. I discovered Harley Poe back in August and your music is the majority of what I've been listening to the past few months. I just want to say thank you for performing and writing this music. Your lyrics really speak to me as a stereotypical angst ridden teen. I was never one into horror movies and such but the other themes of bullying and general mental health issues just really hit me. So thank you Joe, I'm excited to see whatever you release in the future. Also, Bleeding on the Floor is really good and I feel like that song doesn't get enough love.
This is great, man. You fell off my radar when I went through my divorce in 2014. My ex-wife and I met you some 6+ times after shows while we were together. I've lived about 10 lifetimes since then and have come out transformed forever. I see the same in you. I appreciate the transparency and look forward to the rest of what you have to share.
Hi Bradley. I remember you guys. I remember seeing you when she left. It was the last time I saw you. You looked miserable. I hope you're doing well during these weird times. We live and learn, yeah?
I've been hooked on the shit you're slangin for 7 years now. It's been my empathy through very dark times where I couldn'tget out of my own head, the theme music while reading classic horror in the woods, casual listening, and certain songs will always be on my playlist at the skatepark to get the energy up and fuckall level high. Personally I think Have a Great Life. Is the best ever album you've created thus far. Like pure starpower gold. There isn't a skippable song on there, and it has three absolute bangers that I'll remember and get stoked on for the rest of my life. Thank you so much for your work and creativity Joe, I'm feinding for the next album Also I thought it was ironic, the context of the album, and the name chosen, because "Have a great life" was the last thing I said to my ex.. then the album comes out a year later lol
Been a massive fan since Satan Sex and No Regrets, and I appreciate and value the effort and skill that accompanies each release. You’re awesome, truly! I introduce your music to anyone who will give it a go. To be honest, dropping 7 Inches has rekindled my love for playing and recording music after a massive slump, so thanks Joe. I owe you one!
I can't believe that it's already been a year since I discovered you and your music, and it got me through a lot. It helped me when I was down, and it helped fuel me to make art. I draw and paint in a very speratic way, and your music is perfect for the movements I make when drawing a portrait or monster, or whatever. It hits the right parts of the brain to help stimulate my imagination and motivate me to be as bat-shit visually as humanly possible. I love it, and I appreciate it. Take care, Joe! P.S., that clock in the background is awesome.
Was waiting for part 2! Great insight into the thought process behind the music. If you like murder ballads and blood grass , checkout Angry Johnny And The Killbillies. Lots of dark stuff and humour in his lyrics. Try to make it out to Canada if the touring starts up !
Probably I’m way too late in the comment section but I just want to thank you for putting into words and music the way I’ve felt in different situations in my life, feels nice to relate to that
I wasn't planning on commenting, but hearing that Joe is a fan of Slim Cessna's Auto Club is great. Also the solo stuff from Jay Munly is amazing. Also folky and dark :)
@@hillbillypunkgirl I feel you! I'm straight, but Munly is the biggest mancrush I ever had. This sly figure with the dark, mysterious aura. I always want to, but never could, be this way, because I sure don't know how to shut up 😂
I discovered Harley Poe in 2018, after somehow stumbling upon the Hearse Song. I ended up listening to a few more, Its Only the End of the World, Homicidal Maniac, Im coming for you, and then of course, Suckers. I was hooked, lol. Ive been a loyal fan ever since then. I listened to basically everything I could find, and every time I have nothing to listen to, I always come back. My favorite song of yours is Bloodsucker, and among my favorite songs of all time, honestly. I'll never grow tired of it. Keep on being amazing and an inspiration, Joe.
I’m taking a class called the Psychology of death and dying this quarter and the first assignment was a discussion about death in music. I couldn’t pick one so I picked two that were the same subject that came to different conclusions, it’s only temporary and meaningless were the ones I talked about. Your catharsis helped me through my own when I had a bad break up, meaningless let me be angry and nihilistic when I needed to and it’s only temporary reminded me that even though there’s a lot of pain at the time it’ll end and I’ll be able to get through it and still do my best. You’ve helped a lot of people through tough times, when I saw you in Denver on Halloween it was amazing to talk to all these people who had terrible experiences that your music helped them through. Keep up the amazing work man!
I really love this!! I really wish you would/could upload stuff like this, not just questions, just anything, I love your voice and seeing the real you, it is amazing! 😊
