Soil Roots In Water

What happens to soil roots in water? Find out now ☺️
I've heard a lot of speculations about this. So I took the soil propagated spider plant cutting from my previous video and put it in water. It has been growing in soil for about 3 weeks before I took it out, washed away the soil, made sure the roots are as clean as they can be and placed the plant in water.
Notice what happens:
➡️The level of water lowers every day, as some of the water evaporates and some is used by the roots
➡️The roots change color from white to green, due to their exposure to bright light (they are under two 40W @sansi_light bulbs. The lights are on 24x7)
➡️Certain sections of roots start turning brown, but the roots stayed alive
➡️New water roots start growing out of the soil roots
➡️Basically, nothing changed, the plant continued living and growing in water, without any issues. It seems the soil roots will be just fine in water.
