this is an awesome channel, I found a lot of great info. I performed an experiment. I placed a jar of rainwater with a half dried leaf in the sun. After about a month (I added rainwater from time to time) the algae started to grow and smell bad. I finally checked the water and found it indeed had Paramecium,, Planarian, and a few others that I'm not 100% of the name. My question is where did they actually come from?

If you’re worried about losing a hobby, the worst thing you can do is try to force yourself to be interested in my opinion! Let your interest come back naturally

@Microbehunter Microscopy I'm looking for a low cost stereo microscope for entomology (bug size ranges from 2mm upwards) - so it doesn't have to have a huge magnification and a decent working distance would be appreciated. Would an AmScope, Swift or Lacerta be a good choice? I have pretty much zero experience with Stereo Scopes and my budget is somewhat limited.

It depends much on the individual microscope and not so much on the brand itself. Often these microscopes are quite similar and even manufactured in a same facility in China and then exported and branded. you might be interested in this video ruclips.net/video/6k-BPLIoFu0/видео.html

@@MicrobehunterMicroscopy Thank you! I actually think that AmScope would be perfect!! I saw it in a few of your videos but never thought the review was 3 years old! :O Looking forward to the stream tonight!

Thank you, so much for your content. I want to buy my first microscope to view: urine, sperm, hair follicles, saliva and darkfield blood.
My budget is between $5-800. I saw you recommend the big 4 in the used scope areas, for parts and repair availability.
You also said, not to buy nothing too costly, the first time around. I have also noticed, that the big 4 detail your specs upon purchasing, but I don't know what objectives, light source or adaptors etc are best for my needs! 🤔😔
What do you recommend and from which sources ? I live in NYC.
Thank you, so much for responding !
