Government buyers typically search their in-house databases during preliminary market research before going to SAM.gov or DSBS. If they find enough qualify companies, they may not expand their search at all. Registering helps you gain visibility above your competitors.

• NASA VENDOR DATABASE (NVDB) is open to all vendors, both large and small, who wish to do business with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
Vendors can post capability briefs in any format and sign up for e-mail messages on Source Sought Notices, the NASA Office of Small Business Programs Newsletter, Requests for Information (RFIs), or Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
Only 189 of 5000 HUBZone companies are registered in the NASA database.

• SEC | SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE Diverse Vendor Database
The OMWI (Office of Minority and Women Inclusion) maintains a repository of information on diverse vendors that are interested in doing business with the SEC. The SEC uses the database to conduct market research, and to disseminate information on the agency’s supplier diversity initiatives.
• NAVY DIRECTORY of HUBZone BUSINESSES
The Navy Office of Small Business Programs maintains an in-house HUBZone Directory to help NAVFAC contracting officers find HUBZone firms during market research or prime contractors find HUBZones for subcontracting opportunities. It is not a preferred vendor list.
