4:03 - the Vancouver SkyTrain has the exact same trains, and they'll be getting a 5 car version of the Innovia model next year. It would be great to see trains of more than 4 cars on the Kelana Jaya Line to increase capacity.
@@Alpha-fh7mj It was a mistake the station is only designed for 4 cars only. Should be designed for 6 cars instead considering the capacity and ridership of the KJL today.
KL metro is under utilised because they have poor transport policy that discourages people to drive by imposing expensive parking rates, less provision of parking space, no entry in City Centres/ CBD areas during certain hours or adopting technologies like many developed countries do that taxed car users who enter above mentioned areas. Unfortunately such policy is non-existent and the government’s investment in public transport doesn’t address the critical issues that would ‘force’ the city dwellers to use public transport. So its a small wonder people prefer to drive in KL!

Great KL area has the population of around 8 millions which is more than Singapore,HK & Taipei. But KL MRT looks like GHOST-TOWN compared to these cities! Malaysian seems like never think WHY? And no one seems to realise this is a big waste of taxpayers money and unanimously felt that MRT is a much more advanced public transport over buses and they think MRT is trendy and proud of their "EMPTY MRT" and they think mrt makes KL looks more advanced. The main problem of KL is sparsely populated because majority live in landed property which expand to a much much greater area compared to those cities. Therefore it is a big mistake for KL to rely on intensive investment MRT over the exclusive bus lane system. The Cost & Return of MRT in KL is probably 10times lower than those cities because of the sparsely population on landed property! That explains why 80-90%of KL people still driving to work!
