    As someone who recently acquired a wooden gearbox clock that needs some tinkering, I wish someone like George were still around.

    Wow this is very interesting. I have two wooden works clocks and seeing how they were made is very enlightening. I have to admit they are a bit of a pain to keep running but worth it. The first one I got has to have the winding wheel pulled toward the front of the movement for it to run for some reason.
