I am sorry to hear that the machine is giving you such a headache, I see you tried to reinstall the Chrome OS? You only do that when the system tells you to do that with a message similar to this: "Chrome OS not found , please reinstall by downloading at this URL:.... Model Number ,,,,, " Any other Chrome OS will not work as each model has it's own drivers made specifically for that hardware.

I’m so sorry but that thing is long gone, my chrome book just suddenly stopped working one day out of the blue within a year of having it (newly bought), light completely out and yeah it’s the motherboard, sorry about that
EDIT: this happened in around 2021 and I’m trying again in 2024 and yeah it’s dead still.

@@selmateacher7 The light is on, on the side. I can power it down by holding the power button down for 30 seconds. If I lift the lid the white LED on the power button lights but the screen is black. I've checked the brightness button, all good, charging LED light is white so full battery. I've tried refresh and power too, the fan spins momentarily, the charging light flashes orange once and that's it.

It may be a problem in a loose display cable that goes from the motherboard to the back of the screen, inside that laptop. Did it start doing this after a fall?
