Excellent! Both my elder Brother and his Best sea mate were Masters that were on LOTI. Captains Robin Sneeden and Norman Martin. Now happily retired...

I worked with Mick, he was the Chief Steward, on the Islay run for a summer when I was 16! 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off. We had some great laughs in the pubs on Islay, especially as I was too young to have a beer on Tiree. I still compare the freshness of the fish and chips bought on the pier at Port Ellen to this very day.

So this was made in ‘98, the Lord of the Isles being then less than ten years old, having been launched from Ferguson’s in ‘89. Thanks to prior copyright correcting comment, and Google, by the way. Would be fascinating to see what operating this old lady is like today in the current saga climate CalMac finds itself. Would make that display cabinet emergency look like a walk in the park. But we don’t seem to do good fly on the wall programmes anymore.

If that is a quiet drink, what the hell would a wild night look like? Imagine after a night out on the tiles, then an early start in a Force 10 gale, crossing the Minch to Tiree may bring on those inebriated with a tender gastric stomach? It would put you off for life!

The date on the end caption says 1918. I think someone left out the C that should have come between the X and the V.
