OK but what's the landlords side of it? there must be reasons he kicked them out. Did they not pay their rent? did they cause issues with the other tenants? were they wrecking the place?
Look, it says in the bloody video. Fire code issues. Instead of taking the steps to correct the small problems, landlord booted everyone. Why? Only the landlord knows. In any event, landlord has cooked his own goose.
Laws need to be implemented to protect tenants, from renovictions- 10 day evictions-stealing property from tenants..or purchase the property and use Non market to fund
Imagine making your final car payment than having to return it to the dealership. Landlords expect people pay their mortgages and act like being a landlord is work.
Buy a building, run it for 5 years and then get back to us. You'll be singing a different tune. Oh and as for your car analogy. It happens all the time. It's called a car lease. This block was screaming HELP!!!! Fire dept and emergency vehicles constantly attending this block almost daily! However, I do sympathize with the residents of the block and NO should have been handled differently? The tenants were not given proper allowable time to move out properly period! The landlord or province should have stepped in and up if there were serious fire safety issues that could have possibly put the tenants in this apt buildings lives at risk!? Unfortunately regarding RTB here in Winnipeg is a joke for the tenants, won't see anything being done to landlord as I feel having experienced this kind of situation the landlord gets away with hwy robbery. Curious how much this landlord paid RTB to get this done because this is what happens behind the scene I know worked for company landlord and when filed motion with RTB the landlord pays a fee to be done and well me being the caretaker of the block at the time had to serve all my tenants with 3 and 6 months notices to vacate because building going to be completely renovated! Thank god no tenant was put out on the street and landlord worked with most tenants in my block etc. Now it seems that block has been cleaned up a bit since this has happened and it is very nice to see considering its location and being so close to school and it has helped clean up a bit more in the area NO offense but it was getting pretty bad in there! Especially months ago having stand off with someone with firearms and holding someone against their will inside with two or three officers shot in that incident, yah I say it something drastic needed to take place! Now lets see what gets built over on Aikins st and mountain ave White block being torn down now nice to see and doing a wonderful job by the way! Keeping debre and dust levels down nice to see! Only thing now is houses located at 306 and 310 College Ave need to be addressed and something done about them as 310 college ave seems to be a garbage dumping ground for ppl in the area and squatters too? Stray cats need to be picked up and rehomed proper carriers! Otherwise starting to get to be nicer area and needs to stay that way!

that goverment says lot of big words , but at the end the day landlord wins and nothiing gets done ....any landlord does that to any one regardless of there nature what they can and cant afford , he should lose the building , and pay a heavy fine upto 50 million or stay in jail for 50 yrs , then you will see 50% of the landlords selling all there homes/apts on block lol

@@DefianceOrDeath It was reported in other sources. EVERY tenant in this building was evicted, without notice or due process. What’s the reason the Landlord kicked out the tenants, because he didn’t kick everyone out. There must be full transparency.
Why havent charges been laid ?

I wonder! Probably to make way for more illegal immigrants
Again we dont get the full story im sure the landlord didnt evict good tenants that are paying their bills and causing no trouble
Serms like the landlord offered residents alternative accomodations by moving them to another building they purchased nearby

That's how leases work Jack.
You lease a car for a specified period of time and return it at the end of the term.
Same applies to apartments.
Well it is as the landlord is responsible for far more than the average tenant.
Must be making room for some of Trudope’s unwanted guests .
