youtubers covering WRC game should give feedback to codemasters/EA that night must be night. total darkness like on Assetto Corsa Competizione. you cannot choose the night and see the light of 6:00 in the morning or the full moon effect in the sky.
Good to see some more recognisable real life stages making it in. Good car additions, too. I also like the look of the overhaul to the livery selection.
I'm having a blast with EA WRC, especially now that I'm confident with tuning, but I also feel like I'm playing the tech demo for a much better future game at times. A part of me is excited for the DLC, and a part of me just wants them to move on to the next game and focus entirely on that. EA WRC is a strong foundation for the start of a franchise that will improve massively with a lot of small, iterative changes. As much as I like new cars and new stages, I think I'd rather those iterative changes start rolling, even if it means waiting longer for content. Tire systems, career overhaul, weather improvements (or at the very least preventing rain from reflecting 100% of light), fixing the colour saturation and gamma correction issues, and maybe an update to UE5. There is definitely more (there is always something to improve) but that's just off the top of my head. Obviously way too late for a change to happen now regarding these DLCs and their work pipeline, I'm just expressing how I'm feeling with the DLC coming out tomorrow.
Seems like a lot of the team has been moved to other projects or made redundant..... I'd love to see a sequel to this, like DR2 was to DR1, but I am starting to doubt EA thinks it's worth investing in.
Couldn’t agree more here, it does feel like you’re playing a tech demo at times. I’m sure the next one will be awesome but until then, some graphical improvements wouldn’t hurt. Even some unexpected moments on the stages or a car stopped on the side of the road would’ve added some immersion. Funny how people used to trash kiloton and now we have this.
not a single bugfix or enhancment for the weather effects, shimmering textures, vr performence or menus/navigation or a fix for the basically gamebraking bug with restarting moments in the patchnotes. 🤨 i wish they would work a bit on that as well. EDIT: i have to correct myself. The bug with moments got actually patched.
@alles_Freaks the thing with the moments is really quite ridiculous... Astonishing that it's still there. Also does anyone else have issues with the shadows on the road surface when using car headlights? Getting that weird moving pixelation effect on the road at night which really breaks immersion...
I really appreciated your logical approach to the review, you answered questions I would of asked to be answered, whereas others simply haven't even begun too. The mixed tires would be an awesome addition to game as well. I too run AI at 90 to barley win, so I will be looking to see the comparison you spoke of. It is a shame Loeb isn't on Liveries' due to legal reason most likely. Thanks for the great review, I get my download in 30 minutes so I will see. I noticed the many cuts were addressed as well, Sweden had many. 😀Cheers and I definitely subscribed!
yeah it's a visual mess to me. They went for too many seasons/conditions before even nailing a few. It's mainly the foliage and how it's lit at distance that makes the game look awful at times. Everything is too soft looking as well, lacks contrast in shadows etc
It's ridiculous, the only reason I would be buying this dlc would be to flesh out the rallies in championship mode, so complete waste of time for me unless they change that later.
hi i already own the wrc game all up to date with the new patches etc but i cant find the new le maestro dlc on the psn store ??? surely i dont have to buy the whole game again just to get this new dlc /// please help as i cannot find the new dlc anywhere on the psn store ? thankyou
Thanks for your information and great review of the new DLC for EA WRC. I have the game, but have not gotten really involved with this Rally game, probably because of my other SIM racing games. I have only tried it out a couple times to make sure it worked on my PC. Again, thanks for the video and take care.
Perhaps Loeb's name isn't included on the livery because Milestone has still the rights to his name because after all they created the game "Sébastien Loeb Rally EVO"
Oh ! You are right... If it's in french, there is a mistake, it should be "LeS Maetros" because there is a S at the end. But in case of It's in Italian (maestro is an italian word), it should be "il maestro" or "i maestri" (for more than one maestro)...
"The Simpit Rally" is another decent rally. I am really slow, so you won't be last as long as you don't die. Crossplay WRC Scoring Assists Disabled Tuning Disabled Moderate Track Deg
@OverTake_gg I have it running.. minimum graphics settings and quality dlss. Lowered the resolution of my g2 from native by about 10%...Stable 90 fps.. bit it looks like absolute shite. Massive pop in. Chappy textures. Horrendous shimmer. It's worse than dirt 2.0 for sure. That's with a 4090. How anyone is enjoying this in vr is a mystery to me
@@OverTake_gg I wonder if ever they will fix this jaggy graphics. I really looks bad for the game released 2 years ago... I don’t think Codies can actually feature realistic dashboards due to confidentiality restraints. Engineering NDA’s are no joke and sometimes last a lifetime. e.g F1 teams hold onto intellectual property like there balls even if the car is 20 years old and I assume its no different in top class WRC.
Lovely content but they're just not going to improve the game. If they're doing content as DLC then it's fair to expect some sort of proper updates to it, but it looks like they're just leaving it in a state that's not completely booked but not close to the polish of DR2 - the patch notes for this and the '25 update are borderline non existent. For me, the career mode is the worst crime here, none of the new content will be integrated with it apparently and it's so much worse than the simple-but-randomly-generated one of its predecessor. They've built a game with DLCs where the key single player game mode can't use them... Grand.
I still cant get excited till they fix the graphics especially the rain and snow on the car, damage model is still horrible cant they learn from richard burns rally or maybe give options like dirt 4 for sim and arcade, dont wanna drive arcade otherwise whats the point of owning best wheels to drive need for speed hell no
I want australia and wales....how they havent put Wales in is beyond me. I know it's not in the WRC any more, but it's been a classic finale round for decades.
I would say it is made by people who love rally, but they’re not going to work for free and EA are obviously turning the screws. Shameful, considering the legacy of Dirt Rally, Colin McRae rally etc.
