I don’t mind a change in the series’ gameplay (since you could just counter and kill streak to cheese all encounters) but they went too far after Origins. Just turned it into fantasy and made the assassins a side quest.
this game shook my faith in the assassin order..really great story,and i think up untill now,shay is the most tragic character. that s only my opinion of course
Tudor Toader Actually, this was truly awesome. Most haters of Rogue were fans of Unity. But when Unity disappointed them, they changed their minds and decided to play Rogue.
Shay is one of my favorite characters. IGN even said that he was a character who may have been the best. This game takes an entirely new angle, a man that had friends but found them to be mad with power. Betrayed he found almost everything lost. He even wished his friends would stop fighting. However, they sought to make evil weapons. Such as the tranquilizer rifle (I KNOW ITS AN AIR RIFLE BUT I WANNA CALL IT THAT) and the grenade launcher (O_O). He then sought to undo his past crimes and join the templar order to secure freedom. I do wish you can have the Jackdaw vs the Morrigan. Best ship to ship combat ever.
My only problem with this game was that the story was a bit short. Other than that, this is a very underrated game. It's a great change in perspective, with a character that is easy to sympathize with and an altogether fun game. Really don't get why people hate it

Oh these comments hurt to read. The Templars are not bad (well the ones in the past aren't anyway) They simply have different beliefs. Both the Assassins and Templars make good points. Neither side is good or evil. They are simply men fighting for what they believe in. The only reason people believe the Templar's are inherently evil is because we've only seen the war from the Assassin's perspective. They believe the Templars are evil, so we've been lead to believe that as well. As a certain wise young prince once said "I suppose the moral of any story matches the temper of the man telling it." That's precisely why a game from the perspective of a Templar NEEDED to be made! It'll allow us to see both sides of the conflict and judge it more accurately. Thankfully we've compelling Templars such as Haytham and his group to show us some of the other side, but that isn't enough. A game like this was needed in order to make a more compelling narrative.
I never knew this game was ignored by so many fans until just recently. Kinda sad because this was actually my first Assassin's Creed game. I don't know if that's good or bad but honestly I'm just glad this game got me into the series.

Maria Thrope was one. The Courtesan from ACB's multiplayer was one too. There might be more though. It just seems easier to turn into a Templar than it is to turn into an Assassin.
I watched the entire walkthrough for this game and it may be a re skinned version of black flag, but the story is so fucking amazing it almost made me cry because of all the ties to the other games. It was a joy seeing so many characters from the old games in this one!
I absolutely loved this game, despite anyone's opinion that it was made too similar of Black flag--This is the best one by far (of the newer games). I am intrigued at the fact that the assassins betrays the character you play and then you had to hunt down all the assassins (or at least most of them) after becoming a Templar; I thought it was an improvement from black flag. I am disappointed that they made Black Flag for the Xbox One instead, and not this game. Now that I no longer have a 360, I seriously miss playing it, I want this game to come available for the Xbox One.
It was by far better then Unity, and had some advantages over Syndicate. Shay was a character I really enjoyed seeing, all these Templars you see as bad guys yet Shay doesn't match that.
I'm in the same situation. I got a fully upgraded ship and all the unlockable armors in rogue. But then my 360 broke. So now all I have is my Xbox one. I hope it comes on backwards compatibility soon.
saint gamer yes but it has to be on next gen only, because they would have to scrap more than half of the game in order to make it even work on old gen but don't cry there are still plenty of other games that do come out on all platforms

As someone playing both Unity and Rogue, I must admit to spending more time playing Rogue, I really like the story and watching Shay evolve, he's kind of a anti-hero protagonist. I enjoy playing as Arno, and the beautiful atmosphere of Paris in Unity, the new and updated features. It offers more because its on next/new gen, but Rogue has less of the greatness of Unity and is more enjoyable as story progession goes. Both are good games Arno feels a Lil too familiar I guess, but all the beep you can do in Unity makes it the winner. I also think Arno is more appealing he's the classic type assassin and is skilled in combat, also you will play Shay as assassin for a good while before going Rogue. So Unity is better because its the improved model of the game series, but I love Rogue.
shay on the unity engine and graphics with unity parkour would be better than most modern day assassins creed games...ubisoft needs to visit this madly skilled templar..
Shay and Haytham would beat Connor and Arno in a 2vs2 deathmatch. Easily the top 2 deadliest Templars who are stronger than the majority of the assassin protagonists.
Arma Kun If you have played Assassin's Creed 3, there is some exclusive outfit which was Achilles' Assassin robes. It looks similar to Connor's yes, but it's not really from Connor's.
Malcolm Aniag Yes. Because story wise, both outfits which Connor ends up with were originally Achilles. One of them he gave Connor after completing the assassin training, and the other one was Achilles hidden outfit that he wore in AC rogue. Now I'm just speculating, but it seems to me that achiiles had his Rogue era suit hidden because it was probably a little damaged from his fight with Haytham and it brought up too many painful memories of shay betraying the assassins. As such, he probably had the connor outfit constructed using a similar design to his old one, but was more sophisticated and stylish. However, due to his wounded knee forcing him to use a cane, he abandoned the assassin lifestyle and put away the second outfit in the basement...until Connor shows up some 20 or so years later. That's my understanding of it.
Malcolm Aniag Thus, I believe that both Connor's outfit and achilles outfit were originally achilles to begin with. And since each assassin has their own style of clothing, it would be plausible to say that Achilles made both outfits in a similar fashion, with a long, wide, open hood with a sharp beak in the middle.
This was one of the first assassins creed game I got and it's absolutely amazing! Usually I watched game plays of the other assassins creed games I didn't really understand why they were with the assassins but shay had a good reason he betrayed the assassins
Tbh, the story is so much better than AC4, and I'm just so in love how it perfectly ties everything together, from AC3 to Unity and of course all the background info about Abstergo Entertainment/Industries going even as far back as the original AC and mentioned the Spin-offs like Liberation!
Edwards story is the best because he goes from being a greedy pirate to being a wisdomes assassin. He was trucking everybody just to get gold but then he realized its the assassins he belongs with
I think his story was tied up nicely. Instead of staying a Templar at the end he dedicated the rest of his life to finding the box so he could fulfill his promise to Haytham. The game ends with him finding the box and fulfilling that promise. There aren’t really any loose ends and I would rather leave him be instead of having him come back just to die like Edward.
@@cristobalsapiain2709 I’ve changed my opinion on this after playing Unity so spoilers if you haven’t played it yet, I think the fact Arno just gave up on looking for his fathers murderer (Shay) is kind of stupid and should’ve been continued at least in a dlc if nothing else. I’ve seen a few concepts where people have Arno and Connor try to find and kill Shay and while I’m not sure that’s how I’d like the story to be, it’s a good concept. Also I completely agree that we need another Templar sided game, my ideal game would be playing as someone who knows about the Assassins and the Templars but doesn’t align themselves with either. I think it could make a very interesting story.
I hope people realise that not all people can get Unity since they do not have a next Gen. and thus look forward to this game..Overall this game if something different and I really like it, I myself have played every AC Game until now even Liberation and I find it insulting to call this a "Black Flag Remake" and I feel that being able to play as a Templar and see things as they do is a great thing, since often Assassins have been blamed by Templars for being ignorant and understanding. I think this storyline is going too be an interesting one too seeing all these twist.
Wait wait, was the black assassin that Shay was fighting in the house... the old man from the Davenport Homestead who was Connor's mentor in AC3?? It would make sense bc the old man supposedly let the creed die out which is why Connor needed to revive it.

The story was quite short compared to Black Flag and the Ezio trilogy. Rogue would have been just bomb if it had a bigger script like Black Flag.😊

I also think Arno is more appealing he's the classic type assassin and is skilled in combat, also you will play Shay as assassin for a good while before going Rogue. So Unity is better because its the improved model of the game series, but I love Rogue.

I haven’t played Rogue but I can assured you Arno sucked. Connor was worse
shay on the unity engine and graphics with unity parkour would be better than most modern day assassins creed games...ubisoft needs to visit this madly skilled templar..
Shay and Haytham would beat Connor and Arno in a 2vs2 deathmatch. Easily the top 2 deadliest Templars who are stronger than the majority of the assassin protagonists.

Arma Kun If you have played Assassin's Creed 3, there is some exclusive outfit which was Achilles' Assassin robes. It looks similar to Connor's yes, but it's not really from Connor's.

Malcolm Aniag Yes. Because story wise, both outfits which Connor ends up with were originally Achilles. One of them he gave Connor after completing the assassin training, and the other one was Achilles hidden outfit that he wore in AC rogue. Now I'm just speculating, but it seems to me that achiiles had his Rogue era suit hidden because it was probably a little damaged from his fight with Haytham and it brought up too many painful memories of shay betraying the assassins. As such, he probably had the connor outfit constructed using a similar design to his old one, but was more sophisticated and stylish. However, due to his wounded knee forcing him to use a cane, he abandoned the assassin lifestyle and put away the second outfit in the basement...until Connor shows up some 20 or so years later.
That's my understanding of it.

And since each assassin has their own style of clothing, it would be plausible to say that Achilles made both outfits in a similar fashion, with a long, wide, open hood with a sharp beak in the middle.

This was one of the first assassins creed game I got and it's absolutely amazing! Usually I watched game plays of the other assassins creed games I didn't really understand why they were with the assassins but shay had a good reason he betrayed the assassins

Tbh, the story is so much better than AC4, and I'm just so in love how it perfectly ties everything together, from AC3 to Unity and of course all the background info about Abstergo Entertainment/Industries going even as far back as the original AC and mentioned the Spin-offs like Liberation!

I think his story was tied up nicely. Instead of staying a Templar at the end he dedicated the rest of his life to finding the box so he could fulfill his promise to Haytham. The game ends with him finding the box and fulfilling that promise. There aren’t really any loose ends and I would rather leave him be instead of having him come back just to die like Edward.
At least another game on templar's side, I love the gray morality of templars and assassins

@@cristobalsapiain2709 I’ve changed my opinion on this after playing Unity so spoilers if you haven’t played it yet, I think the fact Arno just gave up on looking for his fathers murderer (Shay) is kind of stupid and should’ve been continued at least in a dlc if nothing else. I’ve seen a few concepts where people have Arno and Connor try to find and kill Shay and while I’m not sure that’s how I’d like the story to be, it’s a good concept. Also I completely agree that we need another Templar sided game, my ideal game would be playing as someone who knows about the Assassins and the Templars but doesn’t align themselves with either. I think it could make a very interesting story.

I hope people realise that not all people can get Unity since they do not have a next Gen. and thus look forward to this game..Overall this game if something different and I really like it, I myself have played every AC Game until now even Liberation and I find it insulting to call this a "Black Flag Remake" and I feel that being able to play as a Templar and see things as they do is a great thing, since often Assassins have been blamed by Templars for being ignorant and understanding. I think this storyline is going too be an interesting one too seeing all these twist.
Wait wait, was the black assassin that Shay was fighting in the house... the old man from the Davenport Homestead who was Connor's mentor in AC3?? It would make sense bc the old man supposedly let the creed die out which is why Connor needed to revive it.

This thing literally went from epic music to pre-order now, well of course it's a trailer for a game so some people might want it early heh.
Rogue is the best assassins creed game ever,its story is the best ever,but the game didnt get the appreciation it deserves as this was launched with unity,which players have more anticipation ....that spoiled the reputation of this game,and this remains the most underrated assassins creed game..
