You make a lot of great points in this video. I go through this cycle where I don't like rainbow cards and then I actually hold one and look at it closely, then I'm like oh yeah these are sick. Then I put it back in my binder and forget that I like them.
100% I totally get this. I think the part that makes them boring is they’re all the same! But when you look at one of them after keeping them hidden, they do look really impressive 😊 I think there’s a lot of potential for polarizing cards like this to grow into their own over time - it might just take a while! I think so! I don’t own any Sun & Moon rainbow rare cards though, but I think both eras have some long term potential. The caveat being that: I have no idea what will happen in the future and maybe Rainbow Rares will never be popular 😂 Thanks for watching!
@@tcgbuyersclub What's interesting, and not that you asked 😁, is that the S&M GX rainbows can be very highly regarded. And really expensive. Cards like the Lugia, Charizard, Rayquaza.... are incredibly valuable and sought after in a PSA 10. If I had to guess it comes down to texture and a softer rainbow coloring and arguably lower populations. The S&M rainbows are very nicely textured and the lines flow with the details of the pictures. I think Pokemon shot the puppy in the head when they changed the texturing on SWSH rainbows to more of a clear sand paper. Better texture, final answer.
@coreymackxs it makes sense to me that the S&M era cards are already worth more! The lower supply of most S&M era sets definitely plays a role, and there weren’t as many card variants to chase for most of the era making those hyper rare hits something to go after. I’ve heard some people love the more subtle style of the S&M versions too. I suppose my video is definitely more about S&H era rainbow rares since they’re the ones I had the most exposure to 😊
