I don’t know, the Greek mythology behind Medusa is also pretty tragic. One of the most beautiful and sought after women struck down by the gods and turned into a hideous and deformed monster with snakelike hair and can turn you to stone with one look? Sounds pretty tragic to me.
@@MAnuscript421if your going to claim a story tragic, can you at least know what your talking about? Thats the roman version of the story, not greek mythology
@@lassesgamekanaaleh it’s pretty close. Especially since the Roman’s basically copy pasted it. It’s one the multiple versions. Think the second oldest story was her being pursued by Poseidon and cursed by Athena. Either way they’re still right, she was sought after and turned into a monster. But there is another where she was simply born as a monster but the others afterwards weren’t Roman retellings
Except she already had a tragic origin and tale. Most Greek figures did. Mortal woman who was so beautiful she caught the eye of Poseidon who pursued her and as she begged for protection (one version she was being taken on the spot in a temple), Athena cursed her and turned her into a monster so no man would have her. But there is another version that said she was indeed born a monster but I don’t think she was evil she was just chilling and a huge hazard
Her and the Minotaur, too. It wasn’t his fault or choice to be born half man and half bull. And he didn’t have a say in him being trapped in that labyrinth and his only food source was human beings put into that infernal maze.
I do love this, but it always messes with me when someone tells a different version of a mythological origin [medusa was turned into a gorgon by Athena after Poseidon well, did what Zeus is known for to her, in one of her temples]
So fun fact, that version of the story actually came second, the older backstory of Medusa was that she was born a monster alongside her sisters Euryele and Stheno, the only difference being she was mortal unlike her immortal sisters. The version you’re speaking of was done by the Roman poet Ovid, who really had a chip on his shoulder with authority what with his exile, and the gods made for a perfect stand in
There is so many different versions of Medusa, honestly if you want to write just pick the one you think is the most suitable and call it a day. You can even made one up and it might even be canon
Unpopular but true story: Medusa (raped by pusiden in atena's temple) got turned into a monster by the goddess instead of being protected. After many years atena thought that was probably not enough ,sent persius to cut her head of. Moral of story: gods are unpredictable The end
The original have no rape. Medusa just have sex with her lover in Athena's temple, the virginity temple. It's disrespectful and anger Athena so she curse Medusa. And because the Gorgon sisters terror peoples. Peoples ask God for help. So Athena send Percius to deal with it.
And here the original story. Medusa and her lover go to Athena virginity temple to pray and ask Athena for her blessing for her love. To prove her true love, Medusa have sex with her lover. Athena angry at Medusa for her disrespectful and curse her. Moral of story : respectful to place and peoples. The end.
knowing what i know about most mythos one of the gods probably cursed her the mother for daring to be raped by a god they fancied in a temple of theirs smh
So is the stone lady actually Medusa and she’s her daughter? Is she a demigod? Daughter of a certain sea god? Did the mother pass the curse on to her, making her lose it and the baby get it?
In no way is this the true story of Medusa. This isn't even one of the retellings. This makes Hercules look lore accurate. Heck, this makes Pocahontas look lore accurate to Hercules.
medusa was a beautiful and fair lady that was forcefully taken by a god, and his wife drenched in jealousy cursed her that no man shall ever be able to set eyes on her again. THAT is the true story.
in greek myth, Poseidon violated her. Athena blamed Medusa for her own suffering and for violating the temple. so she turned her into gorgon Poseidon may be a huge jerk but Anthea is almost bad as him. this isn't justice!
Bro medusa s real story is not this real oe is to complicated but i am gonna explain simple athena cursed medusa then she became an ugly woman that everytime she looks at any living thing that becomes stone my english is not that good so i am not sure i writed true
im pretty sure posieden did an unholy thing to her involving his stick and her peach, so i think it was aphrodite that didnt like that she was no longer a virgin and mad it so how ever looked her way (eyes) would be turned to stone and she was filled with hatred or some close to that
Actually medusa was groped by a man and was blessed/cursed so whenever she looked at a man they would turn to stone that said women are completely fine if medusa looks at them
Depends on which version of the myth you prefer The earliest known version of the myth has her and her 2 sisters born as gorgons to a couple of sea gods. Whereas Ovid's rewrite came many years later and portrays her as a human transformed into a gorgon by Athena, which I'm guessing is the version you're thinking of
@thegamingdragon8567 Yeah both versions are interesting imo, tho Ovid's retelling has a lot more in the way of depth and character. The born a gorgon one is in Hesiod’s Theogony and the human transformed into a gorgon version is in Ovid's Metamorphosis if you're interested
I remember seeing the comic, it was really nice and tragic, talk about an adaptation of a mythological creature into some more then just a monster
I don’t know, the Greek mythology behind Medusa is also pretty tragic. One of the most beautiful and sought after women struck down by the gods and turned into a hideous and deformed monster with snakelike hair and can turn you to stone with one look? Sounds pretty tragic to me.
@MAnuscript421 I guess so

This version of Medusa and her original version should have gotten a better life 😢
Ovid's version wasn't the original. He wanted to make the ancient gods look worse. The Original version was a monster period.
@@charissawilkinson9270feels kinda goofy to end your sentence wity two periods

The original wasn't a monster she was just ugly
First off, this is a MASSIVELY different version of the Medusa I know of.
Secondly, Disney made a big mistake passing on this idea
LITERALLY!!
what really???
Yeah this one was form a different myth where Medusa was born a monster and not cursed to be one by Athena
Disney passed on this???
I think it was actually Sony that the idea of the Medusa animated film came from.
I need an entire animated movie with this level of style and passion all about Medusa🐍
There already is one, this is a re-upload for some reason.
Jun Chiu did the orginal, and a whole version of it is available on their channel 💙💙💙
Didn't think i would be seeing this again? I'm glad it has been years

@@Castersvarog i thought so, thanks for the new info
That is not the original version of the myth of Medusa. It's a remade version written during the Roman Empire as political slander.
Actually it was Hera. She turned her into the Gorgon because she was so jealous of Medusa's beauty.
There is so many different versions of Medusa, honestly if you want to write just pick the one you think is the most suitable and call it a day. You can even made one up and it might even be canon
Oh…my….gosh!! The baby coo’s are freaking adorable from 0:45-0:54!!! 🥰 they just make my heart melt!!
Oh…my heart (I died from overload of cuteness)
BEAUTIFUL!!! Amazing voice acting :00000000 and editing I love it⭐️⭐️⭐️
Amazing
You're not a monster. You're just a little girl.

That is the revision by Ovid. Original was that she was born a gorgon.
Gods are a-holes.
Gods are massive dicks.*

If you ignore that Medusa was cursed into becoming a monster by Athena's victim-shaming: Athena's vain-jealousy & cruelty were on full display.
That version Ovrid wrote because he hated auriothy and the gods were Authority. Medusa was born w monster
Hmm among Medusa’s snakes, the cobra is the one to take charge of things due to being the………head honcho
I remember watching a comic video like this before, I actually seen the whole story of her in some video
This is just a sad story you can tell the main snake is the protective leader but I have a feeling they are doing it because her mother is but stone..
knowing what i know about most mythos one of the gods probably cursed her the mother for daring to be raped by a god they fancied in a temple of theirs smh
This is the comic that changed my opinion on Medusa forever.
wow~ cool edit
Thank you! I'm a big fan of your comics!
Thanks for letting us play with your work!
Beautiful work i Love this story
This should get more views this is amazing! 🤩
This Medusa story seems so interesting, the sad look on the snake seeing the stoned mother(?) is heartbreaking.
Love this, is just a beautiful story.
Im so glad someone took time out of their day to record this true story 🙃
This gives me Genndy Tartakovsky vibes
" The true story " well shiver me timbers💀💀💀
Holy moly, guacamole, slap my whiskers and call me a walrus that was incredible
RAHHHH I WENT CRYING WHILE WATCHING THIS HELPS *SOBS*
I love reinterpretations of stories and myth. But you cant go willy nilly calling them "The True Story"
I remember watching this comic years ago
Someone made a dubbing for this? Finaly? I found original animation like year or two ago, nice to see it again
So dramatic and sad and cute caus of the baby
Anyone who wonder AFK means
Away From Keyboard
love the work ^^
The stone kingdom. It truly is a sad one.
Implying that there is a true story about a made up monster
Yes!!! Finally snakes being something else but monsters!!
Brilliant!
So is the stone lady actually Medusa and she’s her daughter? Is she a demigod? Daughter of a certain sea god? Did the mother pass the curse on to her, making her lose it and the baby get it?
The only way she'll _ever_ be free if she loses her eyesight.
In no way is this the true story of Medusa. This isn't even one of the retellings. This makes Hercules look lore accurate. Heck, this makes Pocahontas look lore accurate to Hercules.
The real story of Medusa is really tragic, though she wasn’t a monster. She didn’t deserve what happened to her.
Should we see more of this?
I think the hooded snake is her mom when she died and she became the snake to take care of her
Poor baby💔
I dont care if Disney makes it well, as long as Athena dies.
So good❤
She's so cute
Great tale!
I thought this movie was meant to be made by Sony, not Disney
Medusa isn't all that bad xx
I… damn… I remember this😭😭😭😊
A good example of a Greek myth that would be way different if it was written today.
Villain but GOOD this time!
Expectations status: SUBVERTED! XDDD
In the bright side she is safe
So THAT'S what happened!
So; um, what happened? 😂
I liked this, the only problem is, the snake Medusa was never a baby, but baby medusa is adorable, so whatever.
Wow lets just re-write mythology... just shat on another cultures history great job!
True and me after saying hi to madusa 🗽
medusa was a beautiful and fair lady that was forcefully taken by a god, and his wife drenched in jealousy cursed her that no man shall ever be able to set eyes on her again. THAT is the true story.
Is this the animated Medusa story that was being worked on many years back?
😢👏
1:00 por un momento pensé que todos los soldados atacarían al pobre bebé pero todos están petrificados
Me: This is just sad that the two of them are treated as monsters, when they are human as them
Also me: MOOOORRRREEEEE TRUMMMAAAAAAAA!
in greek myth, Poseidon violated her.
Athena blamed Medusa for her own suffering and for violating the temple. so she turned her into gorgon
Poseidon may be a huge jerk but Anthea is almost bad as him.

The true story is more tragic
Animals from Europians
I feel obligated to point out that this is not mythologically accurate.
uh? ive seen this before, like years ago
Lol this is so far from the original
It is not true story
Its terribly inaccurate, and I only stick with the REAL real story of how Medusa was formed
She was not born with snakes for hair that was what Athena cursed her to have 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
Soo, her hair basically raised her?
MEDUSA - The Fake Story
I like horses not snakes
cute ass vid but she wasnt always a snake head gorgon
